Answer: YES! I just used them to move a heavy cedar wood raised garden bed into more sunshine (for my fall veggie garden). This box was so heavy I could barely budge it, but it moved beautifully with these under each leg; and on cement!

Answer: I believe they would work. The felt bottomed sliders work very well on hardwood floors and reasonably well on ceramic tile. Suspect the biggest issue would be raising the stove enough to get the sliders in place.
