Please break the case down into 3 pieces first, you need to open the hard plastic two part case and place your phone in there, then snap it shut. I admit that I was hesitant about the water protection due to the fact that it is an open face design. All of the prior Lifeproofs that I have used were fully enclosed. So, I did apply the included protective plastic on the screen.My sister has the exact case that she purchased from the Lifeproof website and as far as I can tell, they are identical.
