Answer:	I couldn't. Instead try Walgreen's soft silicone disposable (but reusable) earplugs. They're sticky and go on the ear canal rather than in it, like the foam ones do. I wear them on long plane flights. For sleep you could lie on your side and they still wouldn't be uncomfortable. With the 3M earmuffs you'd have to lie flat on your back to even have a hope of sleeping. The Walgreens type come in a hard plastic case in packs of 12 BTW.

Answer:	It won't eliminate all the noise, but it should help decrease it to the point it's able to be ignored. It turns the shrill metallic ear piercing noise my table saw makes into a dull tolerable drone. So a party thru a wall should be no problem.

Answer:	Yes, there is a black bezel. Don’t know why because the iPhone screen already has a black bezel around the display. I’m afraid it might block some of the display area.

Answer:	It does on the iPhone 11. Even with cleaning them and putting it at the top, it shield the upper portion of both left proximity sensors. There is cut outs on the right but not the left. So it detects your face if positioned correctly but if you darken the screen (put it to your face on private call) and pull it away the screen will not relight. Even after touching it or touching the clear button on the side. VERY annoying. If they would just remove the black line this case would be perfect!
