If the earphone works but you can’t hear or only hear static sounds on your iPhone’s speaker, it is possible that one of the three connectors is not connected properly. Step 7 of our website’s iPhone 6 battery replacement guide shows the three connectors. These three cables are the LCD, touch and the home button/front camera connectors. It is most likely that the front camera connector is the one causing the issue since this is in contact with the earpiece. I recommend opening the phone again and reconnect the 3 connectors. When you reconnect these connectors, make sure a soft "click"-noise is heard. That's when the connector snaps into place. Also, do not press the center of the connector. Press one end, then press the opposite end. Pressing in the center of the connector can bend the component and cause damage. This is where our plastic spudger will come in handy. Have one person keep pressure on the suction cup while you patiently use the opening tool to gently pry each side up. DO NOT PRY ON THE TOP OF THE PHONE NEAR THE CAMERA, SPEAKER, ETC. The bottom and sides must come up first. Most importantly, be very patient and do not force the screen up unless you are replacing the screen as well. It is especially fragile around the corners.
