Based on 677 reviews Check latest price

Product description

It's every musician's nightmare: You're on stage. You're performing. But then something goes terribly wrong and your tablet — which you're using to perform — suddenly crashes to the floor and its screen splinters into a million little glass pieces. It's enough to give anyone a heart attack. Now you can alleviate your fears and perform with confidence thanks to IK's new iKlip Xpand. It's an adjustable tablet holder that uses four expandable grips that can hold most large tablet sizes securely. Its rubberized "Gorilla Grip" technology holds your iPad or tablet on a microphone stand, and its ball joint design allows for infinite adjustment so you'll always have an optimal viewing angle.

iKlip Xpand features several breakthrough technologies that allow it to hold virtually any tablet with a screen size from 7" to 12.1". You can even use it without removing the protective case of many of your favorite devices. First, iKlip Xpand features a patented expandable holding bracket that utilizes an expansion "memory" bracket which allows you to quickly and easily mount an iPad — or similarly sized tablets — to a microphone stand. Its rubberized "Gorilla Grip" backing ensures a firm grip of the device that neither scratches nor mars your tablet's surface. Its ball joint global positioning system lets you precisely position your device at any angle for optimum viewing in both landscape and portrait modes.

  • Microphone stand mount for iPad, iPad mini and similar tablets
  • Expandable arms hold tablets from 6” to 8.7” wide or high
  • Smart bracket design leaves buttons and ports free from obstruction
  • Ball joint provides adjustable angle and free rotation between portrait and landscape
  • Adjustable clamp mounts on poles with a diameter of up to 1.2"

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work with iPad Pro 9.7 in a smart case
Answer: Yes it does (Same case I use) and this mount is the best ever owned!
Question: I may have missed this question...all photos show this being used horizontally, can it be switched to vertical mode as well
Answer: The answer is yes. However it does not spread out far enough to hold the length of a full size iPad. Therefore, the iPad will be in Landscape mode when used vertically which is good for watching movies but not so good when scrolling music lyrics.
Question: Can anyone recommend a protective case for a musician? They all seem to have a folding cover, and I'm not sure which will actually fit with this clamp
Answer: This clamp folds up pretty good or you can disassemble it and put it in your “gig bag” or travel bag. I don’t use a case and it’s traveled all over the world with me. No problems with it at all.
Question: Can I used this with iPad Pro which is 12.9 inches
Answer: Yes, works perfectly with my iPad Pro 12.9 2017. However, it will not fit the iPad with a case. It will only fit for landscape mode. Yes, you can swivel it to portrait mode, but there is a greater chance of an accident since there is no holder on the bottom. Still, the grip is good that I’d trust it in portrait mode.

Product features

User questions & answers

Question: Will this product hold an apple iPad
Answer: Hello, yes you can plug in a wah pedal to this, and a volume peddle if you want. Has two quarter inch inputs for pedals. In the blueboard set up app,you will need to program the wah, by showing it it's up (on state) and down state.
Question: Will this fit my 10.1 inch tablet? There are too many mixed reviews from customers. Has this been remedied
Answer: It is a midi controller. If you are using music apps for iPad such as Amplitube, Ampkit or Jamup it will allow you to control the effects like stomp boxes turning them on and of while you play.
Question: Will it work with ipad pro 12.9 + moko case w apple pencil holder
Answer: Well, it depends of the program or app. If it accepts a midi control i'm sure it is possible. Start and Stop ok, but volume i'm afraid not.
Question: Does it thread (not clamp) directly onto a mic stand
Answer: I'm using the pedal as a page turner with the Unreal Book app and I've never had a problem with reception. It works pretty flawlessly. The only drag is that you have to pair the pedal with your iPad every time the pedal is powered up, but that takes about a minute, tops. It's a great system.

User questions & answers

Question: will it fit with an otterbox on it
Answer: No. It is made to fit the iPad without any case on it. I remove my iPad from my case/cover for each use.
Question: is it suitable for ipad air 2. i have an ipad air 2, May i buy it for my ipad air
Answer: It's made for the original iPad 2, not the air models
Question: Can this stand adjust so you can have your ipad mini in a case and then mount it for extra protection
Answer: As everyone else said, it will not fit with a case. There is no mechanism to adjust the fit. It is preformed to fit an iPad mini tightly, and I will say it feels very safe in the holder - both in portrait and landscape positions (vert. & horiz). Maybe after frequent use it will become looser and feel less safe in the horizontal position but after a year of use I can say it still feels secure.
Question: Does this come with the adaptors to the fit the iPad Air, or are they STILL a separate purchase. one user (coef&m) received them...have others
Answer: Mine (not purchased from Amazon) did not come with the adapters, and they do not appear to be available in IK's online store anymore. The link on the product page to buy them no longer works. Basically, don't buy this if you have an Air or the latest iPad which is the same narrower size.

For optimal results, I would suggest checking out the iRig Pro Duo at the link below. http://www.ikmultimedia.com/irigproduo/
Question: does this work on a macbook pro 2009 edition
Answer: From IK Multimedia: Mac®: Most Mac computers from 2008-2013 are compatible with the exception of the Mac Pro line. There are issues with 2014 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models as well as late 2013 iMac models, making them not compatible.
Question: Does it let you hear through headphones and output to an amp at the same time
Answer: Yep, cause the headphone is an output in stereo. You can also hook it into a tape deck or computer and record, or a PA system and your guitar would come through in stereo. The amp output is mono if you hook into your amp and want silent practice, plug the headphones in the amp. You'll like it very versatile and easy. Go to ikmanual.com/irig2 or youtube for demo's.
Question: Is there much difference between iRig 2 and iRig HD? The HD one is really that better or the iRig 2 is ok to have
Answer: Not a lot, Just that you can plug it into an amp as well with the outlet 1/4 Jack, and use the pedals in Ampitude. It also has a passthru switch on the side, to turn off Ampitude. As for sound quality, I find them both about the same, Gain is a little more "picky" on the Irig2.The Irig HD, does not have the 1/4 Jack Outlet, you cannot plug it into a Amp to play easily.

User questions & answers

Question: Which version of "AmpliTube 4" does this hardware come with -- is it "AmpliTube 4 Deluxe"? If not, what's the software version? Thanks
Answer: No...it is not a A/D D/A converter like a computer interface would be. It is strictly to change 1/4" inputs such as guitar, bass, keyboards, etc. into an XLR output like would be found on a microphone cable. It is a direct box, not a computer interface.
Question: Which USB interface is used in the irig hd 2? is it USB 3.0? How well does it work with usb 2.0 ports? Is there much latency w/ USB
Answer: I am not sure but it's easier to get and use a 50' mic cable and a 10' guitar cable than a 50' guitar cable. If you wanna go nuts buy a 50' Mogami Gold series mic cable for great sound quality.
Question: How is it different from the regular i rig
Answer: If you had a splitter for your drum machine and guitar to plug in. And then that splitter goes into DI. If they go at same time you might have some distortion competition from both instruments since their on same line. But it's theoretically possible.
Question: will this work with a PC running windows
Answer: I'm using mine to split a keyboard to a mixer and to an onstage amp, so yes, you can split it the way you are needing to.

Answer: USB C does not without an additional adapter
Question: What amplitude software is included
Answer: It should include a copy of Amplitube 4 Deluxe available for digital download when you register the device on their website.
Question: Does it ues 240v? free volt
Answer: The iRig Stomp I/O power supply is switching so this can be used with 120V or 240V sources depending on the adapter and power source connected.
Question: how does the modelling sound compared to traditional guitar rigs
Answer: I use it with JamUp pro. It works great as a midi controller for switching effects on and off. The expression pedal works the waw pedal effect prefectly. Years ago I compared AmpliTube, JamUp and a few others. At that time I thought JamUp sounded the best. I’m planning to download the software that came with the iRig stomp and compare it to JamUp. The iRig stomp is great!! I use it to drive a GenzBenz black beauty 30 and an old Oliver 50w. In my opinion you have to have a tube amp to get the best tones. The guitar and modeling are like the cake. The amp is the icing. Hope I’ve been helpful.

Question: Does this work with an ipad air 2? I use forScore
Answer: It will work with an Ios Device
Question: Is this device bluetooth 4.0 (smart ready) or an older bluetooth version (i hope
Answer: I'm not sure but I don't know why not. It works at a microphone you just need ear buds to use it.
Question: Are the pads sensitive enough to be operated by a finger press rather than a foot
Answer: I've only ever used earphones with it. On the microphone, where it hooks into the earphone jack on the iPhone, there is a part on that plug that you can plug earphones into so you can have a microphone and earphones at the same time. It has a really good sound with the earphone though and that's how I recommend you use it! :-)

User questions & answers

Question: Will this cable both charge and sync
Answer: I bought this cable to connect my iPad to my IK media keyboard. The keyboard is power by the I pad. Yes, it syncs and no it does not charge. To be redundant, the iPad is the the power source, so it needs to be charged, which I use a lightning connection to usb charger, etc. Hope this helps. Earl A.
Question: Is it compatible with the iRig Keys Mini
Answer: Yes
Question: Will this work with Irig stream
Answer: I used “Tone Bridge” from the App Store. And it works perfect.
Question: I lost the midi/lightning cable for my irig pro. Will this work as a replacement
Answer: Yes it will work. I had to replace mine and I used this model.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it have a gain control
Answer: It could, but you will need an adapter. This is made for TRRS connection, which is the ones on cell phones that delivers audio and mic input on the same jack. DSLRs use TRS, which is for only audio. I bought this from RODE https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L6C8PNU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and with it you can use it on DSLRs.
Question: Does this come with a cable to connect to a laptop
Answer: As a pure microphone? Sure. For monitoring? Good luck with that. No. Not when you combine the following factors: There is complete reliance of the mic upon software with pass-through audio to perform the monitoring functionality which they claim is intrinsic to the unit. (It is not. Their support staff have confirmed this. You -must- use an app with pass-through audio.) Additionally, Android's sound bus technology is pretty bad as far as latency goes. I couldn't get it to work with a Galaxy S7, using about five different apps with pass-through, with a latency which made it at all useful. You're looking at a 1.5 to 3 second delay in the sound coming back to you, which is -utterly useless- for monitoring. If you simply need to record with a higher degree of fidelity than the phone's mic allows for, -without- the monitoring it's billed for, sure, pick it up. If you need real-time monitoring, give this unit a wide berth, -especially- in the Android world.
Question: can you record phone interviews on an android phone
Answer: Yes -BUT- ***ONLY*** if you:1) Have the mic plugged into your device, -and-2) (Extremely importantly) have an app running which provides pass-through monitoring.3) Have pass-through monitoring active/enabled in the app.If your app does not provide pass-through monitoring, or if you disable that monitoring, then no, you cannot. The line in all bold on their product page (Source: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigmiclav/ ) reads: "... with built-in monitoring capability for all mobile devices." This is not only something I consider false advertising, but I consider it an outright lie. When I told them I felt they were falsely advertising the product with that line, IK's own support person admitted to me that you must use it with an app with pass-through monitoring to be able to monitor, yet they still did not see how it was false advertising. *facepalm*It's a good mic, but the signal chain is not what you expect for a direct-monitoring situation. This does -not- work like the DM circuit on, say, a FocusRite Scarlett 2i2.
