User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work with my "music play lists", on amazon echo, while driving my car? thanks |
Answer: | This device simply connects to your phone via Bluetooth to your car via FM radio. If your phone supports your Amazon music playlists, then yes. This does nothing to change your phones ability to play music, it’s like a pair of earbuds for your car. |
Question: | Is there any way to turn off the fm transmitter and only use aux out + bluetooth |
Answer: | I have 2 of these units using them in my BMW and a Suzuki. Both transmitters are disturbing the normal FM radio signal, regardless of the station. To confirm if this transmitter is on, the other normal radio stations in both cars does not work. If I turn it off, the radio gets back to normal. It does disturb me as I still want my radio. I would not buy again if I hd the chance. |
Question: | Can anyone else hear what i am listening while using the fm transmitter |
Answer: | Yes this is absolutely possible. It happens to me at least a couple times per day. Usually when the other car is directly to either side of my car. Just get away from the other car as quickly as you can. Not easy to do in a traffic jam. Kind of annoying, but not too bad. You’ll hear their music for a few seconds and they’ll hear yours. PS — Ignore the other comments on this, these people are ignorant. These tuner transmitters broadcast at between 5-10 watts, which is Regulated in the USA by the FCC. ALL OTHER BRANDS AND MODELS ARE OF THE SAME POWER/STRENGTH. so, yes, this will happen from time to time, and trust me, no one will have to hit your bumper for it to happen. Duh! |
Question: | Why does it say it will not work with a 2007 Jetta, or better yet, why does it say it is incompatible with any car |
Answer: | Hello.. I own a 2007 ford Taurus and it works very good. I feel like i just upgraded my car. So most likely it is compatible to your car. |

Question: | Does this keep or drop the predecessors features of parking pin dropping and usb drive playback |

Question: | Can someone please tell me the purpose to find an open channel when listening to music off your phone? Thats the only part that I don't understand.Thx |

Program the FM transmitter to that station. Connect your phone to the FM transmitter via bluetooth and you'll hear it through the speakers in your car, just like a bluetooth speaker in your home. User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a way for the device to not automatically play music from your phone when it connects connects to the device |
Answer: | Sorry but NONE of these answers are helpful and the question of how/where was never answered... *My app is doing the same thing and it doesn't matter if I have pause the music, if I've closed the app, if I've restarted my phone, or even four stopped the app. When I connect to Bluetooth it immediately opens the app in the background so I cannot even close it from recently closed apps and begins playing music.. |
Question: | Does this item have auto reconnect |
Answer: | I think that's more of a feature of your phone/device. But my iPhone will connect to it automatally if I have Bluetooth on. |
Question: | My radio doesn't go to 87.5. Is there a way to change the radio frequency |
Answer: | I use the app on my iPhone to change the frequency. I find it handier than using the buttons on the charger. My charger location in my car isn't the easiest to see and it is just simpler to use the app. The app is great! |
Question: | What is tge watt output for charging (i.e. 18w, 39w, 42w |
Answer: | The other responder did a good job answering your question and showing how to calculate the power. However, power should not be your main concern. Since all USB devices run on 5 volts, the current rating will give a better indicator of relative charge rate. A device with 3 - 1 Amp ports is NOT the same as a device with a single 3 Amp port even though their power output is identical. A port delivering 1.5 A may keep your smartphone from going dead but won't do much charging if your screen is on for navigation and your listening to music. It may not even work with a tablet. One more comment. The current given is usually the current at 5V, so use 5 volts when calculating the power and comparing to other brands. ( The amperage on the 12V side will be 5/12ths of the current on the USB side because power-in is approximately the same as power-out.) |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can i pair a soundsync as transmitter to another soundsync as receiver |
Answer: | I just did this using a tube Amp that has bluetooth 5. Long story short I needed to make my rear surround speakers "wireless". I used a line out converter from the receiver and plugged the output rca into a rca to 3.5mm cord. Switched the sound sync to TX and then turned on the other device with it not paired to anything. Here's the trick you have to triple tap the power button to get them to pair. Fortunately for me when they paired, it used aptx LL mode and so I was able to use the automatic time align of my receiver easily. So yes there's a trick to it but it works. |
Question: | How to select aptx modes on the device |
Answer: | You don't select aptX modes, that's determined by the device you are pairing it with. If it's aptX HD then you should see a notification on your devices. My LG V20 shows it. |
Question: | Can this be used while charging |
Answer: | While it can be used while charging, the manual does advise the user to disconnect from the charger when fully charged and not charge for extended periods. |
Question: | Can you transmit to 2 headphones at the same time |
Answer: | Transmitting to two Bluetooth headphones simultaneously is definitely a feature of the device and is covered on page 7 of the English portion of the manual. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work with my car radio that does not have bluetooth |
Answer: | Yes, but you need to have an aux input. I used this for my 2011 nissan which does not have bluetooth built in. You plug in the aux cable to your car, so you can hear people thru your car speakers. Then you talk into that round piece so people can hear you. |
Question: | Does it have back and forward buttons for listening to music/podcasts |
Answer: | Yes it does have forward and backward button For easy listening! |
Question: | Why is this not recommend for Japanese cars |
Answer: | I have a Toyota Camry and I understand this problem all too well. Basically the AUX and cigarette lighter are on the same circuit so when both are connected to the same device simultaneously it creates feedback (loud buzzing). |
Question: | Not recommended for models of Japanese cars? Does that mean it won't work well with Lexus |
Answer: | It works with the Lexus. |

User questions & answers
Question: | My roav works great...but Alexa won’t do the enabled skills |
Answer: | For 39.99 you can get the Roav Viva adapter alone. For 74.99, you can get the adapter and a car mount for your phone. |
Question: | I purchased a viva when it came out. ended up returning as it wasn't compatible with my 2017 honda ridgeline. any progress on solving this |
Answer: | Use bluetooth speaker |
Question: | What is the difference between the $39.99 and the $74.99 Alexa for the car |
Answer: | I had to pull mine out. It fight with my other Bluetooth items. When this happened I had to either stop and restart car, go to app on phone and click it to open, turn off Roav, turn it off to turn on my phone and then turn on my Roav, turn down music to give requests etc etc. So I no longer have Roav in my car. |
Question: | I have a 2008 lexus 350s and it is does not have bluetooth. when i ask alexa to play music, she tells me to plug into bluetooth, how can i access musi |
Answer: | This model doesn't have any output. It uses your phone to stream the audio. However you connect your phone to your car stereo is how you will connect this model. I had purchased the model with output that has bluetooth, fm, aux or usb. This model has none of those. Instead, it plays the audio through your phone. I recommend the other mode,m instead. It is much better. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GJKYY78/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is anyone else having a problem that forces them to click the connect button in the app every time they start the car |
Answer: | Amazon's release so far has mainly negative reviews. For this price point I think I'll stick with Anker. I got these for my adult children as gifts at $20. If spotify is on your phone I'd think you could link it & get alexa to play it by changing some permissions & settings. If spotify is your default music player it should. |
Question: | My vehicle doesn't have usb or bluetooth. how does this work with aux input |
Answer: | No, instead it connects to your phone (via Bluetooth and a phone app) and uses that for internet. if your phone is connected to the mobile hotspot, then it would use the hotspot. |
Question: | When will it be compatible with Spotify |
Answer: | MagSafe inefficiencies are higher than a direct connection so it will charge slower, charge port specs being equal. I will try to give a bit more detail to round it out. Apple fast charging requires a PD(Power Delivery) compliant USB C port. The ports on this charger support 9 volts at 2 amps, which equals 18 watts. They add the two ports to get the 36 watt marketing bulletin. If you connect your phone to this charger with a USB C to Lightning cable, the port will provide a max of 18 watts, adjusted by the phone. Magsafe requires a USB C port capable of 20w to provide 15 watts because it needs to make up for the inefficiencies of wireless charging. Apple list requiring 9V/2.03A(18.27W) to provide a max 12 watts of charging using MagSafe with an iPhone 12 mini. It list 9V/2.22A(19.98W) or 9V/2.56A(23.04W) and higher to provide a max 15 watts of charging using MagSafe for all other iPhone 12 models. Why it list two specs and says or more I don't quite understand but the official Apple 20W wall charger recommended for MagSafe specs its port at 9V/2.22A(19.98W). Any lightning accessories connected(such as headphones) drops the max charging wattage to 7.5 watts when using MagSafe. The charge rate is also adjusted depending on state of charge and temperature by the phone; slowly ramps up, starts ramping down and/or pausing when it hits 80%, and slows if the phone is hot. The iPhone controls how fast it charges, the power specs of the port you connect it to determines how much power the phone has to work with. MagSafe wants a Lexus, using this charger is like handing your iPhone a Toyota, still respectable but not quite what it wanted. |
Question: | Is this connecting to the internet via a mobile hot spot |
Answer: | I had to buy an amazon basics brand usb-c to micro usb to use this with older devices |
