Answer:	it connects.... but I ended up returning it because some streaming services only work when you buy a truly Apple-certified device. this one is not from Apple. I know because I later spent the extra money for the Apple one and everything works perfectly.

Question:	Is it Compatible using a smart TV
Answer:	I use it with my smart TV. I don’t get a full screen like when hooking up my computer to the TV but a smaller pic in the center of the TV of what is playing on my phone. Not sure if it is user error or not and have not looked into that aspect yet.
