Answer:	You should not have a problem with heat slowing the phone down. I had that happen to me once and I'm a field tech. I also point the vents at the roof of my car which evenly distributes the air and diverts away from the phone. These big mounts usually prevent the phone from getting too hot too. However, I'm in TX and I can't use a windshield mount. The mount will melt right off the suction cup in a matter of several months and I'm stuck buying another one.

It is the first holder I've found that fits my iPhone6 inside of a Mophie battery case, and holds it snugly while driving. iPhone5 is about the same size as a 6, as I recall. Answer:	It opens to 86 mm, which is less than 3 1/2 inches (that's 88.9 mm). I have a case that's 88 mm wide and it doesn't fit into the Airframe+. I use it with an iPhone 6+ (bumper case) and it works reasonably well. The phone sags, sometimes accidentally pressing buttons on the dash, but the Airframe+ definitely accommodates the weight.

When I initially answered this question I almost missed that you were asking about the 6 Plus. I think the 6 Plus would be at the very limits of this mount. The iPhone 6 would fit fine.

If it is still in Amazon allowable time for returns then continue to answer the questions. It will also print out return label with instructions. I've had to do a few recently and it works well. If you have a Kohl's Clothing store you take you package product in and they will direct you to the Amazon Return counter. They will scan you label and give you a receipt. By the time you get home you may have already gotten you credit. I choose to get a replacement. I got the credit and the replacement was already ordered and I should receive it the next day which will be the 25Jan21, now that is fast.
