Product description

Capitol's first single-disc Sinatra "best-of," featuring 20 tracks-all 24-bit remastered! Includes I've Got the World on a String; I Get a Kick Out of You; Young at Heart; In the Wee Small Hours; I've Got You Under My Skin; You Make Me Feel So Young; Oh Look at Me Now; Night and Day; Witchcraft; The Lady Is a Tramp; Come Fly with Me; One for My Baby , and more.

Few would dispute that Frank Sinatra was one of the greatest popular singers of the 20th century. His voice had distinct power and majesty, whether he was belting out a swinging dance number or softly crooning a tender ballad. When he was at his height, no one could touch him, and the songs collected on Classic Sinatra showcase the range of his talent. Recorded during his memorable run for Capitol Records in the 1950s, the songs here are more than just his best, they're often the definitive recordings: "I Get a Kick out of You," "Young at Heart," "Witchcraft," "The Lady Is a Tramp," "In the Wee Small Hours," and "I've Got You Under My Skin." Like almost everything Sinatra recorded during this period, there isn't a dud to be found, which makes Classic Sinatra a perfect introduction to the work of this truly great talent. --Robert Burrow

No One Cares

Sinatra, Frank

Based on 152 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Essentially the sequel to 1957's Where Are You?, this 1959 release finds Sinatra once again singing tales of woe to the lush accompaniment of Gordon Jenkins' classically influenced arrangements. Torch songs this time around include "Just Friends," "None But the Lonely Heart," "Stormy Weather," and "When No One Cares," all delivered with minimal vocal acrobatics and maximum ache by Ol' Blue Eyes. Some fans may prefer the sparer arrangements of such Nelson Riddle collaborations as In the Wee Small Hours, but this still makes for superior late-night listening. --Dan Epstein

Come Swing with Me!

Product description

Frank Sinatra - Come Swing With Me - Cd

This 1961 record, one of Sinatra's last for Capitol, continues in the swingin' vein of Come Fly with Me, Come Dance with Me, and Sinatra's Swingin' Session!!! Though not one of Sinatra's best Capitol-era efforts, it's still pretty good. Fine versions of "On the Sunny Side of the Street," "Don't Take Your Love from Me" and "That Old Black Magic" make it well worth your hard-earned cash. Most interesting, however, are Billy May's dynamic arrangements, which take maximum advantage of the stereo spectrum. While some listeners may find the relentless ping-ponging a distraction, fans of "space-age bachelor pad" artists such as Esquivel and Henri Rene will find much to enjoy herein. --Dan Epstein
