Answer:	Yes indeed, my Labrador mix has thick nails and these do the trick. Just be ready to apply firm pressure and the nail will cut right off with no discomfort to the animal. Distracting with treats also helps.

Answer:	I have 2 Great Danes, 2 80lb pitbulls, black & tan coonhound, and a small mix. I use these clippers on all of the dogs. Clipping the nails of my 183lb Great Dane is extremely challenging but these clippers do a good job cutting through her claws evenly. I also used these on my bullmastiff (who just passed away) and the clippers worked great with her nails.

Answer:	Nothing is going to keep you from cutting to the quick. The safety guard is simply a metal panel in front of the blades that keeps you from pushing the nail through and cutting off more than about 6 centimeters. You can move it out of the way if you need to, but I think the point of it is to cut an equal length from each nail, 6cm at a time. If the nails are overgrown, cut once, then again a few days later to give the quick time to recede, then cut them again. Repeat if necessary. Instructions that come with the tool are vague, but apparently there is some kind of oil you can use that makes the nail a bit more translucent so you can see the quick. I'll post a photo of the instructions in an Imgur link below. I haven't tried it because my dog has solid black nails nails & it wouldn't work anyway. I think the tool would work for any size dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, etc. for my toy poodles, I don't find it necessary to unlock the tool to open wider. I simply stick their nail into the little chamber and squeeze the handle. Quick and Easy - and I have squirmy dogs that don't like their paws handled. Answer:	Measure your old belt's length (all the way around the top), then measure across the top of the belt (widest part). Use those two measurements to match up to a comparable belt. If yours is roughly 45" long and 3/16" wide, then this is the belt for you. Many older Craftsman branded drill presses used this standard belt. If you don't have the old belt, use a piece of cord or string to get the length measurement and the pulley grooves to get the width. Good luck!
