Answer:	Metal! I promise you that you will not regret buying this shower valve. I’m very picky about what I install and this is a great product.

Answer:	You’ll have to add a flow control valve to your shower head. It’s a $10.00 item that you can get @ your hardware store and very easy to install. All that is needed is pipe tape and a cresent wrench.
Question:	What cleaning products are safe to use on this seat without rubbing off the enamel surface
Answer:	On the notes it says that: “VALVE REQUIRED: This trim kit requires valve # 2510 to complete installation” You should already have the Moen Valve #2510 inside your wall. However you I would highly recommend that you buy and replace your Moen Cartridge that is inside your valve. Best one I found was the all “Moen 1222HD Commercial Heavy-Duty Brass Shell PosiTemp One-Handle Tub Shower or Shower-Only Faucet Cartridge Replacement” worth the slightly extra cost for the all brass HD part. Money well spent.

Question:	Can I just get the hardware and non t the seat somewhere ? I have this exact toilet seat and they are fine but the hardware is seized up
Answer:	No. The company only sells complete units and not parts. Use caution when cleaning around the hinges. Do not spray with cleaning fluid. Apply cleaner to a paper towel and wipe the hinge, or the hinge will corrode from being sprayed with cleaner even though you wipe the surface of the hinge dry.

Answer:	ALL I CAN SAY IS FROM OUR EXPERIENCE THIS IS A VERY STABLE SEAT, WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT.
Question:	How heavy or substantial is this toilet seat? I'm looking for one that is sturdy, durable, and can support weight, look nice & easy to clean
Answer:	This is a heavy material about 1/2 inch thick. It has an eggshell texture, not the smoothness of a piece of plastic. It is very sturdy and after 4 years, the rubber bumpers under the seat have yet to show signs of wear. After looking at my local hardware stores and building supply stores at as many as available, this seemed to be the best. Should either of the two I have need replacement, I would definitely buy these again.
Question:	Are the hinges made from metal:if so what kind, or a plastic type of material painted to look like chrome
Answer:	We have two of these and the hinges are made of metal. I don't know what type of metal, but we have a family member that weights close to 350 pounds and neither of these have broken or come loose. She uses both on a daily basis. I'm not sure what type of metal these are made of, but it must be pretty strong as we have had these for a year or more now. The two bolts that hold this to the toilet bowl are made of some sort of hard plastic. They screw in and hold a metal piece that you have to line up when you tighten this down. The fact that these are so easily removed is great for cleaning. The first one I purchased was from Amazon and it is not the slow closing type. I'm pretty sure the metal is the same, just a different model. The second one I got at "the Blue and White" hardware store and it is a little different than the Amazon one. Basically the same, it just was harder to install for some reason. The main reason was that it had the wrong hardware. These also say to clean them with soap and water, but we have a housekeeper and she wipes them down with those Clorox wipes, then with a clean damp rag. Hasn't seemed to harm the color or finish in anyway. I've read a few reviews that people have had the seat spit as a result of them slamming shut. But since this is a slow close model, it should not be an issue. We replaced two of our toilets with the TOTO "Drake" model toilets and I have to say I hate them. The tank lid dosent even seem to fit them correctly and I wish we had gone with our gut feeling and bought the Kohler model we originally planned to purchase. The tank lid just sits on th top and doesn't overlap the tank or have any type of system to keep the lids from moving back. It looks like the design is suppose to create a smooth look to the tank. It's a pain to keep these from moving. It's almost like the lids are not made for the toilet, but it was a boxed deal, so I am assuming that this is how these are designed. It also isn't completely fired on the lower edge which shows when the lid has shifted. I'm constantly having to move the lids back into place. I'm considering caulking these down to keep them in place and eliminating me from constantly having to fix the tank lids. These where bought at a well known plumbing company with a showroom and the only reason we decided to buy them in the first place was that we have a friend who knows the owner. I can see that these will be replaced in the near future with the Kohler model we initially considered buying.The TOTO model came with a slow close seat and it's very uncomfortable. It's made of plastic completely and they scratch very easily. After about three months time, they started having side to side movement. This was due to the poor seat design, not the lack of tightness to the bowl. If you are using this on a TOTO model, it will hang over the front edge just a little. This is only noticeable if you are looking at the seat from the floor level, which no one should be doing anyway. If I had to replace one of these seats for any reason, I would not hesitate to buy this one again. However, I would without a doubt buy the Kohler toilet instead.Hope this has helped you and not overwhelmed you with information. But the hinges are metal.

Answer:	The throne seat and lid is manufacture from high density composite wood (HD) with enamel finish. I weigh round 240 after dumpage occurs. Answer:	I have the same issue. And I can't tighten it any further because there's not enough room for the wrench to lay flat, so I have to tighten it by hand. So the seat doesn't go all the way back because it's blocked by the screws.

Harsh chemicals can rub away the paint finish on toilet seats and the metal finish on hinges. Question:	How many bumpers on the bottom of the seat
Answer:	Amazon combines the reviews and Q&A from all the models. The plastic one appears to have 4. The wooden one 2 (at least mine did). The Wooden one is the one that actually needs 4. I added 2 extra bumpers but users should be be expected to do that to compensate for the poorly designed wood seat.
Question:	I have a really heavy family member who has moved in with me, how much weight will this seat handle
Answer:	That's impossible to compute, but if there is one that will handle a heavy person, it's this one.
Question:	Does it come with mounting bolts? If so are they metal
Answer:	yes it comes with mounting bolts and they are stainless steel. This is a very good seat.
Question:	Are the hinges actually metal or are they plastic
Answer:	Don't buy this––it's junk! The "Chrome Hinges" product description is extremely deceptive! Inside the metal hinges, the internal pin they pivot on is made of cheap, soft plastic. (See a customer pic below--plastic shows between the metal knuckles of hinges.) The plastic pins warp & deform easily, making the hinges so loose the seat slides side-to-side. This pulls the screws out of the wood, and the hinges will eventually fall apart. There's no way to repair this, or replace the cheap plastic pin (at least without a machine shop). They should've used metal pins (for just a few cents more) instead of hiding this defective weak link! Shady and shoddy. The seat is designed to last a few months, just long enough that you can't return it. Mayfair and Topseat brands both have this defect inside their "metal" hinges, and we should boycott this.

Answer:	The hole length is 10.25 inches. BTW, this is the best seat I've ever seen.
Question:	Because sta-tite bolt needs to be tightened until bottom piece breaks off to install, how can the seat be replaced

If you would ever need to remove your seat you can place the wrench on what will remain of the STA-TITE nut and revers the nut off of the bolt. Answer:	It appears to be very durable. I have replaced all of bathrooms with this seat. They are bleached weekly and do not show any sign of fading/rubbing off. This is a very high quality product and the removable feature for cleaning is amazing...at least for this clean freak. I've been incredibly happy with this purchase.
