Answer:	Not sure how much water you want it to retain, but it will absorb some. They do dry more quickly than a regular sponge but they aren't nearly as resistant to water as some of the cheaper versions of this product from other brands. I can put liquid foundation on this and then touch up with it 30-45 minutes later if needed, if that helps any.

Answer:	Extremely annoying, like the import razors. Most of the time cheaper to buy a brand new one. STOP IT, our landfills are overflowing with Chinese plastic. If a company doesn't offer a replacement blades or eyelash refills, let them know you will not buy their product

Answer:	Looks real to me. I wouldn't know how to tell from a real or fake one though. It works great, keeps my eyelashes curled all day and haven't had to replace the pad yet. Better than all the other eyelash curlers I've ever owned. They probably stopped selling it in stores, but there is a US website for shu uemera. $20.00 on their own website, probably just have to pay shipping.
