It isn't labeled as reef safe and doesn't state that it is made with non nano-particles so we can only assume that it is. Nano-particles of zinc oxide has been shown to be harmful to reefs. |

| Answer: | No sunscreen is 100% reef safe, but this is one of the best options available. The ingredients that are worst for reefs are Octocrylene and Oxybenzone which are the main ingredients in normal sunscreens. These chemicals are not on the list of ingredients for this one. It worked great for me! Just beware that sometimes you will see sunscreen that says reef safe on the bottle, but if you check the ingredient list it will have Octocrylene and/or Oxybenzone just in a smaller percentage or lower down on the list than the average bottle. |

Having said that, if you sweat immediately after application you can see the white lotion - sweating makes it hard to absorb the lotion (so apply it in a cooler, dry environment, allow it to soak in, and then you should be OK).We just got back from a trip to Bora Bora, with intense sun, and were very impressed at how well the lotion worked (no burning at all), and how good the lotion smells. We will definitely be purchasing this lotion again. |
