| Answer: | For making hand sanitizer, I have mixed this with 99% isopropyl alcohol, and with 95% and 75% ethanol. I used whisks, and most recently added the EtOH slowly in a food processor (be careful-- the ethanol is flammable). I have been unable to prevent separation of the aloe from the alcohol, as it is a fine suspension-- probably organic plant matter, cellulose, etc. that will not dissolve no matter what you do. Shaking it up makes a very fine suspension and it feels just fine on the hands used this way. I have also filtered the mixture through paper towels, to get a clear hand sanitizer, which should still have the same alcohol concentration as desired (60% or probably better is 70% EtOH). I also used some glycerine as well. |
