If you notice, they don't say "this cream is 2.5% retinol" they say it "contains 2.5% retinol" which means that is one ingredients and when mixed with the rest of the cream results in a concentration of about .25%. Most of these have a concentration of .25% to .5%. The highest that anybody is going to put on their face is 1% and some of the better ones have this concentration. To compete with this, the companies selling weaker ones resort to the fake numbers to trick you into buying it. You could accuse them of lying, but technically what they are saying is "true", just not the truth. |
