Answer:	The soap is made by Kao, I think. The first few digits of the package UPC code are 901525-----, which is the Kao soap company. The soap I got is definitely for the Japanese market: the package states 'Made in Japan', and virtually no English on the package. I am very satisfied with it.

Answer:	I think as long as you don't use it on a sensitive area it's okay to use it on other areas besides your back. Sometimes I'll get a random pimple on my chest or on my arm below the shoulder so I'll use the soap there. No negative experience there. But I wouldn't recommend using it on your face. It's probably too harsh for that.
