Thats the difference between he detergent and regular. Theres not enough water in an he machine to handle the regular amount of suds. Answer:	I do not know how they were harvested. But as far as testing on animals, my husband and I use them will no ill effects.
Question:	about how many soap nuts is 2 pounds
Answer:	Bag size is about the same as a loaf of bread. I only use 5 to 6 nuts at a time and change them when needed. Some weeks I only have to change 2 or 3 of them. I just look for the ones that have turned gray and chunk them. I only wash one day a week, so it has been quite cost effective for me.
Question:	Do they work well for all loads--colors, whites--and in all temps of water? I read one review that states the liquid version left the whites dingy
Answer:	I use cold water to wash all my clothes and the soap nuts worked fine. I did not use the liquid version though. I soaked the soap nuts in hot water first before putting in the washer (along with the water). I also put in a bit oxi-clean and baking soda. I use the wool balls with essential oil for dryer instead of dryer sheet. They ,too, work very well for me.

Answer:	Soap nuts should always be dried between laundry days. I throw the nuts in the dryer with the last load of wash and then I remove them from the bag and spread them on a paper towel to completely dry and sort out the ones that are used up.
