Question:	Can I soak in an aftershave (Stetson) for a different scent
Answer:	As a pharmacist, I can say that you may have some issues if you soak it in aftershave. You may lose the soap into the aftershave solution. If it does work, then you will have both scents to deal with. My suggestion is that you scrap off a small piece and soak it in a small amount of aftershave to see how it works...

Answer:	Note: In the past I've used VDH Deluxe extensively and had always melted it in the microwave (20-25 seconds made it a nice liquid which cooled into a perfect mug of soap). When I tried to melt the Williams in the same way it seemed to start "popping" and didnt melt easily (a different type of soap, so didnt seem to want to melt like VDH did). I was hesitant to microwave it any further so rather than ruin the soap or my microwave I decided to try another method...I had the Williams puck in my shaving mug. I then poured boiling hot water (heated in a tea-pot) into the mug. I let it sit like that til it reached room temperature then poured it out. It stuck in place just fine from this boiling water method. I load my brush off the puck in my mug, then face lather. This worked well for the life of the puck. I've since used a second puck of Williams and it worked great again using boiling water.
Question:	Typically how many shaves do you get out of one cake
Answer:	I shave my face and my head daily, 3 passes each, and get at least 125 shaves per puck. I have no issues getting it to lather either. I’ve used badger, boar and synthetic brushes with equally great results.

I also like the fact that I'm not throwing away a can every couple of months, just recycling their cardboard box. (It's cheaper, too). Of course, you need a shaving mug and a brush, neither of which are very expensive.

Answer:	I don't think it's hard to grip at all. My water is probably normal softness, and when shaving the bowl gets all soapy, and no problem. It's not polished like you normally see in marble, the surface is a little rough, and has a well-defined texture. It's also pretty hard so I don't think it'll break easily but haven't tested that. I bought mine because it's deeper than most others, so there's less of a mess outside the bowl. Aside from a little discoloration at the bottom where water seeped into the marble, which is only cosmetic, I'm pretty happy with mine. If I broke mine I'd replace it with the same thing.

Answer:	Hi Michael. I bought the Taconic Shave 4oz shaving soap with eucalyptus and hemp seed oil. Fits perfectly in the bottom and is ridged to hold the soap in place. It looks like an oddly shaped coffee mug in that the base and mouth are far too wide for such a purpose. I sort of gambled on the thing, as I had no idea if the soap would fit. Answer:	It is Not Plastic>>I repete It is Not Plastic..It is a Hard Rubber it will flex a tad but will not break id you drop it on the floor..First to do when you buy oneis to put a dab of water just to wet the bottom of the mug..place the shaving soap in mug..put in micro wave for 45 seconds to 1 minute..this will cause the shaving soap to conform to the shaving mug...I my self do a two part shaving with this mug...Get the shaving brush wet with hot water..next run it around on the shaving soap to gather up some soap ..then I use a small bowl to make my lather in..swirling it around in the small bowl but you must also pump the brush up & down as you swirl the brush..this mixes in air to make a creamy lather....(It is like whipping butter)..with your face you apply a hot wash cloth to soften your beard while making your lather..for about 1 minute..next you want too apply Noxema to the face..this will keep the beard soft..apply the shaving lather over the Noxzema and you are ready to shave...I my self use a DE Razor(Edwin Jagger think EL98 & DE Feather Blades..My opinion this is the best you can have.....Hope this Helps And yes the shaving Mug this the best investment you can make....

Answer:	I have been wet shaving for over 40 years..This in my opinion has yet to be the best shaving mug yet...I lather up the brush & use a small shaving bowl to make a cream lather~If you are not sure how too wet shave..I suggest you do a search on the internet...Note the best DE Razor I use is Edin Jagger 89seems to be just the right weight..My best advice is to get a sample pack of DE Blades..see what works for your beard..There is no best blade...What works for me my not work for you....For the money you can not go wrong with this shaving mug~~~~

Answer:	The hot scuttle will not heat up can shaving cream. Can shaving cream is full of air (foam). Foam is an insulator. I love my scuttle. I also love my hot water brush. I actually miss it when I am on the road

Answer:	I do not know. A lot of answers I have seen would make me think it would not. It is for mug and brush shaving cream where you put lather on the brush and swirl it around in the Quick Shave. There, it keeps it warm. Try it! You might like it!!

Answer:	As with any stoneware (such as tea pots) you first need to PREHEAT your scuttle e.g.; while you take a shower. After dumping the water that you used for initial heating, the hot water which you then put into the scuttle is intended to KEEP the lather warm. If you want to keep something warm, you can't put it into a cool container!

Answer:	The company itself is based out of Pinellas County Florida I believe (at least the phone number on their website is a local one) but this bowl itself is made 'for them' out of China - probably for cost reasons. It's a quality build, though small. I grate my pucks and use this as a soap container as it is really too small for lathering as I am a head AND face shaver and require more soap per lather... hope that helps.
Question:	I see other products claim to keep the lather warm/hot while using -- does anyone know if this one does
Answer:	It is stainless steel - so if you put in hot water before you started the lather, the bowl could in theory, warm the lather. It isn't insulated. Only something insulated would truly keep something warm. Even my coffee mug doesn't keep my coffee warm for a long time, but long enough - so if you warmed it up the shaving bowl with hot water first and poured it out, I think it would likely serve to help warm the lather and keep it that way until you used it. I like the bowl for helping to get a LOT of lather. After a few YouTube tutorials on how to get thick and full lather this has become my favorite shaving soap bowl so far. Hope that helps.

Answer:	This is for whipping the soap into a iather. Microwave the soap puck 20 seconds in a ceramic mug (I use a coffee mug). This is where you store the soap. After soap drys and sets up you Sprinkle some water drops (Blooming) in the mug. Let stand a few minutes. Wet your brush and load it with the soap. Take the loaded brush and whip it up in the bowl. Viola, shaving cream. Sprinkle some water
