Answer: It is intended that you store it in the cleaning/charging station. I assume when it is fully charged it stops charging. It is in contact with the two sensors when it sits in the station.
Question: How is this compared to the 790cc
Answer: I actually prefer the 5090. I purchased the 790cc first but found it too have features I didn't need, like sensitivity mode. Also, I like the build quality and appearance of the 5090 more. The cleaning station also seems updated. The closeness of the shave was equal between the 2. I didn't notice any benefit of the pulsonic tech in the 790, but that might be due to the 5090 have a 20% increase in motor power.

Answer: My razor is a 9295CC and it works fine. I don't know the difference with a 9290CC. My understanding is that if your razor came with a clean and renew setup this one will work with it.
