Answer:	I assume the marble walls have a textured surface, in that case, I am not sure. The walls in our shower are smooth and these hold like they were bolted to the walls. In my case, I highly recommend this item. I would say give it a try, the worst that can happen is that they don't hold securely, and you will know that right away, then return them if they don't satisfy your needs.

Answer:	My tub is precisely 4 inches. Not being a Mr Fixit, a friend installed for me, but I have a feeling it can be adjusted -- (cant ask installer, who went on vacation). So dont hold me to the 1/2 inch.
