Question:	Is this the real thing, or a knock off
Answer:	I love and use l'Oreal Voluminous mascara exclusively, but I have found that on me the Carbon Black does smudge. Using the primer helps, but I avoid this color. I haven't experienced smudging with any other color and right now am using brownish black. It's a nice daytime color. (the Carbon Black is a great color for dramatic nighttime use, and it may not smudge on you! Worth a try!).

Answer:	The difference is the type of pigment that is used. Traditional mascaras use different oxidation states of iron oxides (black, red, and yellow with the red and yellow being only used in the brown shade). In carbon black the black iron oxide pigment is replaced with a carbon compound that has a much deeper more obsidian appearance. Black iron oxides are naturally occurring minerals and vary on the shade their "blackness" where the carbon black is much more consistently deep black.

After applying mascara, just before it is fully dried, if your lashes still need a bit more curl (this stuff is great with that, without more effort, though), just take your finger and press your eyelashes up almost against your eyelids. Wait about two seconds. Presto! Curled lashes without using an eyelash curler, which can pull out your lashes.

1) Always replace your mascara every 3 months. This is the most hygienic replenishment time for all eye makeup products. Plus, it ensures your mascara never gets too dry and clumpy.

2) Always let mascara set (but not dry!) between applications. Two coats of mascara should always be applied, but never more than that. Wait 10 seconds for formula to set before applying second coat so lashes won't clump.

3) Never apply before liner. Your fresh coats of mascara will smudge and clump together if you apply liner after mascara. Applying mascara before liner also prevents you from being able to get as close to the lash line as possible. Remember - liner first, then two coats of mascara!

Answer:	Yes it is very easy with the curved brush. Much better then a straight brush
Question:	Are these smudge proof and/or Waterproof
Answer:	This may be an issue with washable version vs waterproof because the washable I wear is a dream to put on in a few strokes and comes off with a dab of tear free baby shampoo or Mary Kay oil free makeup remover (that seems rather oily?) Its never been ever clumpy and the brush comes out of the tube crystal clean except for a dab on the tip that you wipe on the rim, instead of a glob of mascara to wipe and swipe off. Unlike like Exhibitionist mascara, although a great mascara, once you wipe the gobs of it off of the brush before you apply it. Lash Sensation takes under 5 swipes to get full, soft, long, and curled lashes. Curls that lasts all day without an eyelash curler because the wand acts like a perfectly fitted cup that lifts and separate your lashes, in that “every defined lash” way, not the “spider look” way. The fullness is a kind of false lash look too, but soft lashes, not the fake stiff lashes way. I have sparse short lashes due to my thyroid disease, but every time, without fail that I wear this mascara, (I like to wear different colored mascaras on different days), I get the same comments...”oh wow mom, your eyes look really good today”. I love it that it don’t have to keep checking a mirror too, to see if I have splotches of mascara that looks like black hands reaching up from my eyes, haha. My prominent brow bone gets a lot of action from mascaras that smudge, usually the waterproof ones that remove with oils. The washable version of this doesn’t flake or smudge. I wish they made a brown in it though for blondes like me, so I can fool people into thinking these are my lashes! It’s the bomb mascara so I don’t know why it’s not in those videos of the top mascaras for 2020, or non-smudging, or last worthiness?! I hope the waterproof version I ordered today is good, but I’ll post back here if it sucks, haha. Then you’ll know it’s the waterproof version, and that the washable is the best ever!

Question:	why was this mascara dried up and clotted upon receipt
Answer:	Depending on how much you put on your lashes, it leaves them relatively soft. Would recommend NOT getting the waterproof, because the waterproof takes 17 years and a lot of frustration to take off.

Answer:	It really is a good mascara! It doesn't clump and really defines and makes them look long.

Answer:	You could try using a mascara that forms tunes around lashes, such as L'Oreal Double Extend (Beauty Tubes Mascara). It very nicely solves the problem of under eye smudges.

Question:	Is this oil free
Answer:	As long as you apply properly, it shouldn't flake. It has real nylon bristles. Not those weird silicon ones that are so popular and so ineffective. Make sure never to pump your wand. Swirl around to get product. Then with a facial tissue, gently wipe excess. Apply. Wait at least a minute or so to let dry before second coat or use a short blast of hair dryer on gentle.
Question:	is it water proof
Answer:	I have tried both, and I cannot tell the difference between the two on myself.
Question:	is this easy to use
Answer:	Hi there... Classic black is more of just the basic flat black. The glam black is much more dramatic and intense black and slightly shiny... it looks wet as opposed to dry. The classic black is fine but I prefer the glam black personally. I feel it makes the eyes pop more. Hope this helps ðŸ~Š
Question:	Can you use this with an eyelash curler? I have tried products before that are clear but they tend to uncurl flashes
