I don't recall if there was a starting age on the package but I would imagine as long as it's kept away from little ones that it can still be used on them. Answer:	I have to disagree with others who say the Wet Brush is better, at least for my hair. I have very fine, long hair but a lot of it. While the wet brush will get the tangles out, it takes upwards of two hours or more and comes with much hair pulled out. Answer:	It is fairly stiff but it really depends on how much hair you have / how thick it is. I have medium thick fine hair and I find they aren't stiff enough to properly get into my hair and touch the scalp. Then again, our definitions of stiff might be different! If I put the brush against my hand and press down, I can bend the bristles; that might be a more helpful measure?
