Answer:	You can do either , I ususally put a few squirts in the palm of my hand , but a little bit of Sulfate Free shampoo on top then mix it with my hands by rubbing them together and hit the target areas first. leave it in your hair after scrubbing it in while you shower , then after at least 5 minutes rinse it out and I have noticed my hair growth thickening and coming back to the immediate hair line. I have also made a mixture of lavender and rosemary natural oils and add that sometimes as well , it did lighten the color of my hair but I don't care about that !

But after 3 weeks of use the grays were back also midshaft was color lifted very noticeable. I had to re color correct and more than root cover up greys..
