| Answer: | No it does not come with combs. It depends on the blade size for how short the hair cut will be. The higher the number, the shorter the cut. The letter F after the number means fine. If your dog has a thick coat you don’t want an F blade. This one comes with a 10 blade which is pretty short. I have a schnauzer and for her cut I had to buy a 7F for her body and a 3F (I should have bought a 3 because of how curly her fur is). |

I check the blade periodically by putting the flat of the blade on the back of my hand or cheek. I don't believe the dogs feel the heat much when you are clipping the body of the coat but you need to be careful of their faces, feet and other sensitive parts if you clip them. I blow on their feet while clipping if I am close to being done with the task. Otherwise, I let the clippers cool & do something else such as brushing or clipping toenails while the clippers cool. |

The longer the blade’ teeth the more dangerous it is to cut the skin. So #10 is safer than # 3. The #3 will also leave longer hair on the dog or cat.
