2 best henna hair dye

Henna hair dye is a natural hair coloring product derived from the leaves of the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis). It has been used for centuries in various cultures as a safe and natural way to color hair. Here is what you need to know about henna hair dye in the context of beauty, hair care, and hair coloring products:

  1. Natural Coloring: Henna hair dye is known for being a natural alternative to chemical hair dyes. It imparts a red-orange to reddish-brown color to the hair, depending on your natural hair color and the specific henna product used. It doesn't provide shades like blonde or black, as it primarily adds warm tones.

  2. Safe and Gentle: Henna is generally considered safe and gentle on the hair compared to synthetic hair dyes that contain harsh chemicals. It is less likely to cause allergic reactions and damage to the hair.

  3. Conditioning Properties: Henna also has conditioning properties, which can make your hair feel softer and smoother. It is often used as a natural hair treatment to improve hair texture.

  4. Semi-Permanent: Henna hair dye is semi-permanent. While it doesn't wash out completely with each shampoo, it gradually fades over time. The exact duration of color retention varies depending on factors like the henna quality and your hair care routine.

  5. Application: Applying henna can be a bit more involved compared to commercial hair dyes. It typically involves mixing the henna powder with water or other natural ingredients to create a paste, which is then applied to the hair. The paste is left on for several hours to allow the color to develop.

  6. Variations: There are variations of henna hair dye that include the addition of other natural ingredients. For example, some products combine henna with indigo to create a range of brown shades. It's essential to read product labels to understand the specific effects of the henna mixture you choose.

  7. Henna Quality: The quality of the henna product can vary, so it's advisable to purchase from reputable brands that offer pure, natural henna without additives or artificial colors.

  8. Patch Test: Before using henna on your hair, it's recommended to perform a patch test to check for any allergic reactions or unexpected results.

Henna hair dye is a popular choice for those seeking a natural and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional hair dyes. However, since it doesn't provide the full spectrum of color options that synthetic dyes offer, it's essential to choose henna if you desire warm, reddish tones in your hair.

User questions & answers

Question: My hair is a whitish gray. Are there any suggestions to covering the gray to black? I don't want it to be brown or red. I would like it to be compl
Answer: Mix the henna packet with warm water, tea, or coffee to make a paste. Allow it to sit overnight, and after applying a skin protectant on any skin you don't want stained, work it into your hair. Keep applying coats to ensure there are no hairs missed, cover with plastic wrap, and wait at least 3 hours. Thoroughly rinse with cool water, and you will probably have a head of orange hair. Mix the packet of indigo as you did with the henna, but only allow it to sit for 10 to 20 minutes before applying, covering with plastic wrap, and waiting at least three hours. Rinse it out with cool water, and your orange hair should be whatever shade of brown or black you chose. That's what I did after two previous failures, and it worked.
Question: Can this be used for henna skin tattoos
Answer: This is such a brilliant red, it would make an awesome henna tatt. It sticks to the skin really well. I have accidentally gotten it on My skin and washed it off within a couple of minutes and it will leave a stain for a few days without intentionally trying to tattoo. I swear by this stuff.
Question: Is the one step where I mix both packages together? Or is one step where I first do the 50g pure henna and then do the100g henna plus indigo? Help
Answer: Hi i just did the two step process and I have to say that it is MUCH better to do it the 2 step way. The first step really preps you hair for maximum color retention on the second step. I have virgin middle eastern almost black hair with 10% gray and I got FULL coverage (about 8 hours on the second step). I bought the dark brown. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Question: My hair is a reddish brown I was told the mixture to dark brown/black will make it a weird blue green color, is this true
Answer: Henna has an orange dye. It takes about a week to oxidize to its final color. Indigo has a blue dye. It also needs time to oxidize. Together, orange and blue make brown. At first, the color can appear to have a green cast, but once it oxidizes, it will tone down. If it still looks greenish after a week, add one teaspoon to one tablespoon of pure body art quality henna powder to enough of your conditioner to cover all of your hair. (The longer and thicker your hair, the more henna you'll need.) Apply this (gloss) mixture to your hair, cover with saran wrap (to keep all air out), and leave on for 4 hours. Rinse and condition as usual. Don't use shampoo for a few days. Because your hair is naturally reddish, it may just look brown/black for you (depending on whether you do the one step or two step application).

User questions & answers

Question: I have quite a bit of natural Grey roots and have been using highlights anyone know if This will cover highlights
Answer: You may require several applications to achieve the result you desire. Mark Stearns. Herbalishous. Wayne, PA
Question: Can you save some of the powder for later use, or do you have to use all of it in one sitting
Answer: I've always mixed what I needed and saved the extra powder (unmixed) for my next use. If you're just touching up grays you can probably get away with using less than the entire box.
Question: How long does the color last before needing a new application
Answer: I have some greys. I love how well it covers the grey, but I have to leave it on for at least 1 1/2 hrs. After every shampoo some washes out, so that it gradually gets dull and faded. I find that it looks good for about 3 weeks. Then it needs a touch-up.
Question: I am trying this product since last 2 months. It doesn't color my roots well. I can see my roots still grey even after same day wash. whats wrong
Answer: Trying to cover the roots is definitely a problem with this product. I find that using the tip of the applicator and applying it directly to the roots, where I part my hair And around my face line Is a big help. I do this almost daily and since it’s 1/4 inch of hair that I’m trying to cover I actually just leave it and I don’t rinse it out. I do this in the morning before I leave for work. It seems to take a continuous daily application to maintain root coverage. Lately I’ve been wondering if, after I wash hair, putting a little cider vinegar on the hair roots, ( this is suggested by some application methods) Then applying the Henna ,would help to better stain the hair And be longer lasting? Just a suggestion that I’ll try as soon as I can afford to purchase more. This is A very expensive product compared to 1–2 years ago! Otherwise I have not found a product that doesn’t irritate my entire face and scalp and has such an easy application with luxurious shine results.
