10 best bleach for hairs
Hair bleach is a chemical product used to lighten the color of the hair. It's commonly employed in the process of hair coloring, highlighting, or achieving an overall lighter shade. Here are some key points about hair bleach:
Ingredients:
- Hair bleach typically contains strong chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide and ammonia. These chemicals work to break down the natural pigments in the hair, lightening its color.
Powder and Developer:
- Hair bleach is often sold in two parts: a powder bleach and a developer (peroxide). The powder is mixed with the developer to create a paste that is applied to the hair.
Lightening Process:
- The bleach lightens the hair by removing its natural color. The degree of lightening depends on factors such as the strength of the bleach, the duration of application, and the natural color of the hair.
Coloring and Highlights:
- Hair bleach is commonly used in conjunction with hair color to achieve specific shades or highlights. It's an effective way to lighten sections of hair before applying color.
Levels of Developer:
- Developers come in different volumes (e.g., 10, 20, 30, 40). The volume determines the strength of the peroxide and, consequently, how much lift the hair will experience. Higher volumes are more potent but can also be more damaging to the hair.
Bleaching Process:
- The bleaching process involves applying the bleach mixture to sections of hair, starting from the ends and working towards the roots. The application time varies based on the desired result and the hair's starting color.
Hair Health:
- Bleaching can be damaging to hair, as it strips away natural oils and weakens the hair structure. It's important to follow up with deep conditioning treatments to maintain hair health.
Root Touch-ups:
- For individuals with colored or bleached hair, regular touch-ups are often needed as new hair growth occurs at the roots. This involves applying bleach to the regrowth while avoiding previously treated hair.
Color Correction:
- If the result of bleaching is not as expected, color correction may be necessary. This process involves adjusting the color to achieve the desired outcome.
Professional vs. Home Use:
- While some people use hair bleach at home, achieving consistent and desired results often requires skill. For complex color changes or corrections, seeking the assistance of a professional stylist is advisable.
It's crucial to follow the instructions provided with the bleach product, including proper mixing ratios and application times, to minimize the risk of damage to the hair and scalp. Additionally, a strand test is recommended before applying bleach to the entire hair to assess how it will react.

Question: | Can this be used on facial hair |
Answer: | Hi there! Thank you for your interest in using Colorista All Over Bleach. This bleach is not recommended for use on facial or any other body area except for the hair on your head! |
Question: | I have natural medium brown hair, dyed auburn. Would this get my hair light enough in the tips to get a light pastel color on it |
Answer: | It is hard to say how light your hair will get since we cannot see how dark your hair is now. Since your hair is colored, you may need to do more than one lightening session. We recommend doing a Lightening Preview Test (see instructions) to see what your results would be. If your hair does not lighten enough the first time, you can wait 2 weeks and bleach again for lighter results or still follow with a Semi-Permanent color of your choice. |
Question: | is this product to permanently color your hair blond or does it wash away aswell after washes |
Answer: | Hi Neftali, Colorista Bleach is a permanent product. It will stay in your hair until you grow it out/cut if off or color over it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have virgin black/dark brown hair and I want to go to a medium/light blonde. What type of developer should I use? Any particular brand |
Answer: | The brands are pretty much all the same. I wouldn't go any higher than 30. You might end up with an orange tint which is common so get a good toner. Also it might take a few tries to get the color you want if your working with dark hair but you should wait a bit between bleaches conditioning lots in the mean time. This is mostly to protect your hair from as much damage as possible. |
Question: | What is the developer for |
Answer: | The developer is what activates the bleach and gives it that creamy/pasty consistency that allows you to apply it to your hair. |
Question: | My hair is a dark/copper w/an orange tint & I want to lighten it so I can go bright red, What developer would you suggest to go with this product |
Answer: | bellatrix.....i have dark brown hair, and i've always had issues doing anything to lighten it because i just end up with orange.... until i tried quick blue(which is awesome)....and 50 strength developer(which i found on ebay)....and the key is heat....if you have an old fashion cap hair dryer, that will be perfect!! it took me i believe 60-90 minutes to achieve WHITE, which is what i wanted!! and then to tone it(takes out the red/orange/yellow) i used Special Effects Blue Toner (also on ebay)....i was actually able to match the bleached part to my silver/white streaks that i have because (i'm getting old!!)...and then i dye them pink & purple!!!! hope this helps!!! and don't forget to use a really good conditioner....i put coconut oil on my ends occasionally.....i've never had noticeable damage from bleaching, but i also don't blow dry or use hairspray or curling irons... |
Question: | This is my first time dying my hair, what all do I need? I have black hair |
Answer: | Well that depends on how light your trying to go. If u just want some lift to a brown/light brown you can just use any 20 vol developer with this bleach up to 30-45 mins. Then apply the color ur going for. Otherwise if your trying to be really blonde and you have NEVER dye your hair before then use 30 vol instead you'll get a lighter result instantly. I do not suggest dying your hair more than once per day just becuz you want to be lighter and didn't achieve it the first time. Going from black to a much lighter color is a process and it may take more than once of dying. Btw I'm a license profession I hope this helps |

User questions & answers
Question: | My hair is dyed a reddish dark brown but i want to go as light as possible. Shoukd i use a 20 volume developer? Also what kind of toner |
Answer: | I am not a professional, I just dye my hair all the time, so take my advice with a grain of salt. If your hair is already dyed, it will already be somewhat damaged, so you want to go very gentle with whatever you do. My advice: Start out using a color remover like L'Oreal Effasol Color Remover, Clairol Color Oops, or another remover designed to remove permanent hair dye. This will not harm your hair, and will make the bleaching process safer. It can be drying though! For the bleaching itself, I would go with a 20 vol developer. I would also suggest doing a "bleach bath" or "soap cap" instead of a traditional bleach mixture. It cushions the bleach process further. To make one you cut the developer with a shampoo (the cheap kind with sodium lauryl sulfate). It is less damaging to your hair but is just as effective. It lowers the volume of the developer, making it safer, but the shampoo also ups the bleaching power at the same time. I always use a bleach bath, whether I'm bleaching my whole head or doing a root touch-up. You can find more detailed instructions on the internet. The lower the volume, the slower the bleach process, so the more you can monitor it to make sure you don't give yourself a "chemical cut," aka all your hair breaks off. I find that soaking my hair with coconut oil also helps cushion the hair. It doesn't affect the action of the bleach but provides your skin and hair with a layer of protection (like how you are supposed to bleach dirty hair). There is info on that available on the net as well. Olaplex is also amazing, if you can get some No. 1 to add to the bleach mix and/or some No.2 for right after, go for it. It actually undoes hair damage, unlike protein and moisturizing treatments, which just fill in the holes in damaged hair. The best toner for going as light as possible is Wella Color Charm T18 "Lightest Ash Blonde," the one that used to be called "White Lady." Toner is another process, so make sure your hair is up for it. There is another gentler way to tone your hair by using direct dyes. Get a small bottle of dye like Arctic Fox Purple Rain or any semi-permanent direct dye in a purple shade, and some silicone-free white conditioner (Suave Essentials Coconut is what I use, it's cheap and works), and mix a TINY drop of the purple dye in a bunch of conditioner--it should be a very pale lilac. Apply it to your hair and let it sit for about twenty minutes before rinsing out. If you go a little purple, washing your hair once should undo it. If you think it still looks yellow, you can redo it as much as you want without harming your hair. Purple cancels out the yellow tones in bleached hair, leaving it platinum blonde/silvery. If your hair has orange tones in it, blue will cancel it out. You can buy some blue dye and use the same method to council out the orange. Blue + orange will have the same tone, but it will be a little darker blonde. Rest your hair for a week or at least a few days between treatments if you can (I know work/school can make doing that impractical), and try to objectively evaluate what you think your hair is up for. Basically, go slow so you don't turn your hair into goo or have it break off. I hope this helps! |
Question: | How long you leave bleach on ? And what’s the ratio |
Answer: | I initially mixed the 2:1 ratio but found it too thick. I then added a little more developer until I got a "cake batter" like consistency. I left it on the hair 30 minutes. Lifted to a golden blonde. You may need to tone it to get the exact color. Lifts very quickly so check often and use saran wrap so you can see it lifting without opening the plastic. Hope this helps. |
Question: | do i have to use the koleston developer with this |
Answer: | No you can use any developer |
Question: | Will I need to purchase any other products to lighten my hair or is this all that I need |
Answer: | You'll also need peroxide. It is sold in differing strengths/volumes. The higher the volume the more levels you can lighten the hair - but it is also harsher on the skin. I have the koleston perfect in 20 vol and 40 vol. 40 vol to be used with the blondor to lift my very dark brown hair to almost platinum and the 20 vol to be used as a developer when toning my hair color. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What's the difference between this and igora? Just lift level |
Answer: | Igora gives 8 levels of lift where the Blondeme gives 9. Blondeme has bonding technology that is supposed to keep your hair from getting as damaged. (Think oleplex) |
Question: | I received the GOLD container, a review said this one doesnt work, I dont want to open it, I want the one on the picture, anyone try this GOLD one |
Answer: | I too received the gold and lavender container and it works wonderfully!!! It worked on me. I have stubborn hair that normally takes 4 times to dye with Sally's hair bleach. This hair bleach has a forever costumer with me. Details about my hair; I have dark brown roots and i have pastel pink hair. I hope this helps you. Ps don't for get to do a spot test for allergies with any product. Just a dot of bleach and keep an eye on it for a day to see if you have any possible allergies. That was my only concern upon reading previous review about this product. "I did a spot test and I'm find to go" . |
Question: | Is this the bleach you can use 10 volume with to lighten |
Answer: | My hairdresser used 10 volume with bleach to do my highlights and it's easier on the hair. She would do my foiled highlights first, then color my roots, then wait 20 minutes before she pulled the color through some of the hair (lowlights). Then after 40 minutes she would pull out the foils, rinse in cool water, then shampoo in warm. |
Question: | my hair is dirty blonde, but i want a lighter blonde will my hair turn a blondish color or just white |
Answer: | This might not be the right product for what you are trying to do. If you hair is naturally blonde, then 20v bleach could turn your hair white quickly and easily. If you use 30v bleach, then it will probably make it brittle and fall apart starting a couple months later. For naturally dirty blonde hair, you could use normal permanent hair color to turn it two shades lighter, and a lot more healthier than bleach. If you want it really blonde, then you could just use a "high-lift" permanent hair color. Grocery store high-lift permanent hair colors are L'Oreal Excellence Blonde Supreme and Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color. Some good salon brands of High-Lift color are Satin and Joico with 30v or 40v developer. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How much does this make when mixed evenly with developer |
Answer: | 1.5oz of cream developer to each 1oz powder bleach packet. I personally use 2oz cream developer. |
Question: | How does this compare to super oreal blanc (also by l'oreal)? That is the one i usually use |
Answer: | I'm not sure. I have black hair and I used this product once with 20 volume developer aND let process for and hour and my hair came out bleach blonde. I highly recommend this product. The blue coloring in the bleach helps eliminate the yellow and orange hues in hair |
Question: | I have very dark hair, should i use 30 developer with this? or will it damage badly?? thanks |
Answer: | If you're bleaching your hair, you can expect damage no matter what level you use. I'm half Irish half Greek, with extremely dark and thick hair. I had to use both packets (my hair isn't very long) and 40 developer, and my hair was definitely damaged but not as badly as it could be. Just be sure to use an ashy toner (light ash blonde will take out the brassy tones) and use a deeeeeep conditioner. I used the the "It's a 10!" for blondes and my hair recovered so much faster than it did when I bleached without it a couple years back! |
Question: | I have long hair would it be enough with 2 packet |
Answer: | Always buy more than you need. I used two packets and it wasn't enough, and my hair is to my shoulders. If your hair is long, you should invest in the tub or buy 4 of these. |
