Question:	Is the material just soft or does it provide padding? my 15mo old's uncomfortable on her new firmer mattress, I am looking for something with cushion

Find a mattress topper with a nano/micro gel filling, this is much less expensive than down feather filling with nearly the same softness. When you got the topper already, then putting this mattress protector on top of it will defitinely solve your daughter's problem.
