Answer:	Yes it is. Standard 1/4 jacks are used for PA speakers and guitar cables. Just be sure the braided wire gets soldered to the outside contact.

After unscrewing the body or sheathe of the 1/4" plug solder the red (+ )wire to the center or tip of the plug and then solder the black wire to the sleeve and crimp the insulated wire to the sleeve of the plug.
