Answer:	When in split screen, the audio you will hear is from the camera the monitor is set on at this moment. You will see the set camera marked in RED on top of the screen. This is where the sound will come from. My unit came with two cameras, so you can put each in a different part of their rooms in order to see everything possible. With two separate units they would also be able to talk to eachother like an intercom. Also they can be left plugged in to an electrical outfit so you can monitor and charge the battery at the same time or you can unplug the units and carry them around with you in order to monitor while you're doing other things. I like mine very much.
