Answer:	the "Rain" setting has a very definite loop. The showering sound is nice, but then there are about 4 plopping sounds and you hear that repeat about every 6-7 seconds. I found it very annoying. The "white noise" setting has a fairly nice quality, but I would have had to turn it up so loud in order to drown out my husband's snoring that the "white noise" itself would have been too loud for my comfort. It's an ok machine, but if you are sensitive to the looping, this machine will bother you.

Answer:	Yes, and I find it very bright. So much so that I have to cover it with something because it illuminates the area next to my bed and around the device. (It's the only thing I don't like about it and I wonder why they put the light on the machine - if the machine is making noise, it's obviously on!) I put a piece of black electrical tape over it.

Answer:	I've never tried running it all night, but I'm pretty sure you can. To select a time limit (15, 30, or 60 minutes), you push a button and the light beside the time lights up, indicating which time has been selected. When I turn my on, none of the timer options are lit up, so I assume that means it will run indefinitely. Hope that helps!

Answer:	I don't see any way to do this, if the unit is on there is sound playing. You can turn the projection on and off during use but the audio can only be turned down, not off.

Answer:	No you can't mute the sound. It does have 8 different sound levels to choose from though. We keep ours on the lowest setting usually so it's just a soft background noise. This item I found most useful- this is my go to thing to put my baby in if I’m getting shower, in the kitchen, etc. he loves it because he could reach the toys where in the rock n play he is just now able (5 months). This is great too because so easy to pack up and send to grandmas even though it doesn’t fold up. Extremely light weight and the top does come off easily. We use this daily and couldn’t go without it!

Answer:	No sound machine will block out all the noise, but even tho this one is small and compact it does an adequate job... especially for the size. We use it for travel.
Question:	Does the ocean sound have birds too? Can anyone shate a video
Answer:	No, there are no bird sounds. The 'ocean' sounds very similar to white noise with a hint of waves crashing.

Answer:	The holes aren’t blocked on my kids submarine. It will spill water if you lift it out of the tub after being submerged.

Answer:	When the blue hatch is pulled up in front, the hatch comes up to show an opening to the inside of the ship. The back piece of the handle stays attached. Then to close it you snap the front down again. Fun!
Question:	Does it let water in the boat to create mold
Answer:	No. You can spin the propeller with your finger but this toy has no batteries. My son loves this toy and takes it in the bathtub all the time.

The VTech DM221 Digital Audio Monitor with DECT 6.0 digital technology provides crystal clear transmission, eliminating the annoying white noise you hear from analog monitors. The only sounds you hear are coming from your baby. Totally digital transmission eliminates background noise and prevents interference so you can rest assured the only sounds you—and only you—will hear are your baby's. Make sure the Baby Unit is turned on. Move the Parent Unit closer to the Baby Unit, but not closer than 1 meter / 3 feet. If you are using the Parent Unit in cordless mode, the battery may be low and requires recharging. A full charge takes 12 hours. Reset the system by disconnecting power from both units, waiting at least one minute, then reconnecting power. Allow time for the two units to link to each other. Question:	Is the distance range really close to 1,000 feet? I want to use this as a barn monitor for baby goats, and our barn is quite a ways from the house
Answer:	During lambing season, we left the "parent" portion plugged in at the barn and the baby monitor in the house. I often had to relink the devices when I went down to the barn, but then I could listen to be sure everything was fine in the house or use the walkie talkie feature to page my husband for help during late-night treks to check for lambs. I'm not great at judging distances, but our barn is probably 200'-300' away from the house and we were using it in the basement.
Question:	Is anyone using two (2) of these units successfully without problems
Answer:	Yes, we have two units and are using them because we wanted more than 2 parent monitors. You cannot link the two, but we wanted more parent units. Here is what we did. - Put both baby monitors in same room - One set of parent units will "hear" one of the baby monitors - Other set of parent units will "hear" the other baby monitor - Put the 4 parent units in the rooms we wanted them in. All 4 parent units will hear the same thing - Only drawback is that only 2 parent units can talk to each other; the other 2 parent units can talk to each other Works for what we need. Gives us 4 parent units, and we put 2 for daytime use and 2 for night time. The daytime parent units are in different rooms, which we will be in during the day. The 2 for night time are near the bed or TV room. It has been working for us.
Question:	Does the baby unit have a rechargeable battery too, or just the parent unit
Answer:	I would love for the baby unit to be battery operated but contrary to the first reply, it doesn’t have a battery mode to use without having to be plugged in, just the parent unit.
Question:	Why did you buy this product instead of a video baby monitor? Is it just price, or something else? Trying to decide for myself
Answer:	The video monitors do no filter the noise coming from the baby’s room. We have a more expensive video monitor and ended up buying this one to replace it because the sound quality on the video monitor was terrible and when it transmitted the noise machine from the nursery it was impossible to sleep through. This monitor only transmits sound above a custom level that you set, so you don’t listen to every little peep from your little one, just the distress calls.

• The parent unit is operated with the rechargeable battery or by AC power. A fully charged battery can operate 9 to 16 hours depending on monitor's sensitivity settings. As it takes up to 11 hours for the battery to be fully charged, turn the parent unit off while charging can help shorten the charging time.
• The parent unit is preset to plays an audio Safety Reminder when it is connected to a baby unit. You may turn it off by pressing MENU / REMINDER / SELECT / OFF after your initial set up.
