Answer:	I have no way of knowing, without seeing what you're talking about. The attachment points are flat, both the movable tension discs, and the discs you can screw to a doorframe. If your banisters are flat, you can possibly tension the gate against those, or maybe screw in the discs. I'd suggest going to the Evenflo web site and asking them, as nobody here will be able to address your particular installation. I'd provide you a link, but Amazon doesn't allow links.

Answer:	You are totally right! My door opening is 34.5" and the gate was too small without the extension (bumpers full pulled out) and too big with the extension (bumpers fully pushed in). Even though I had 4 other adults there to confirm this, I thought I was going crazy so I called Evenflo directly and they confirmed that there is a small 1 to 2 inch gap in which the gate will not work. So, if your hallway/door opening is around 33.5 - 35.5, this gate will be a problem for you. Otherwise, it's an awesome gate that we have also in our kitchen. Sad I have to send the new one back because it won't work for us :(

Answer:	Absolutely could be used in a hallway rather than top of stairs. The gate includes mounting hardware that easily can be used in the middle of the hallway. We have our gate mounted about 3 feet down the hall from the top of our stairs and that works great. For robustness of the mounting you may want to ensure that you're either mounting to something solid (like studs) or using wall anchors of some sort.

Question:	What color is this gate? Is it white or off white
Answer:	Yes it can. Ours is attached to a metal banister on one side. Some responders indicate you need to drill the metal but we are renting and didn't want to damage the banister. There are kits, or if you are good at DIY you can fashion your own. Mine was done by a carpenter nephew who fashioned a long wooden piece on the gate side and attached it with commercial grade fasteners and several extra plastic ties for added safety and stability. The gate is then screwed into that wood. It has held up just fine to an aggressive little two year old yanking on it. As for the baseboard on the other side, our stud allowed us to drill into the wall just above the baseboard and not be more than 3" from floor so it depends on the height of your baseboard, but again, it works great !! Good luck.

Answer:	Absolutely. The “cup” of the wall protector is wider than the “foot” on the gate that extends to it, however, it fits very securely and the gate is rock solid. We use it to keep our very active/very strong German Shepherd puppy in the kitchen and there is no chance of her knocking the gate over.

Answer:	I don't see why not...they would work as long as the rod/cap doesn't have a super large diameter. My wall cups have a diameter of 1 5/8 inch.

Answer:	I think you should be able to. Both sides of the 'base' gate have openings for the extension, and the extension itself has the proper openings for 'another' extension. Now, I cannot predict after how many extensions the mechanics would be poor enough to knock it easily off with a hit in the middle, but I would imagine that using it with 2 instead of 1 extension should be fine...

Answer:	It has a 1 inch circumference that is rubber, you screw it in top, both sides & bottom, both sides. You can easily detach the gate & put it back easily. I love this gate. I have not seen or heard of a better one.

Answer:	No, but the gate looks the same either direction so you can install it which ever way you'd prefer the gate to swing.
Question:	could a thin italian greyhound get through this
Answer:	My 5 month old Italian greyhound got her head stuck between the bars. Had to pull them apart to get her head out.
Question:	Could a kitten squeze through the bars
Answer:	Yes. I foster a variety of cats and have consistently found that kittens under 1 year can squeeze through the bars. Occasionally, cats over 1 year can jump over the gate, but this gate is very tall and will deter most older cats from jumping over.

Answer:	It is strongest when it is in it's pentagon shape. If any angle isn't in a pentagon shape, it isn't sturdy. We make sure it stays in the strongest configuration, and our 1 year old pulls up on it with no problem.

Answer:	How is it possible that it's 35" wide when the item description says it's under 30"?

Answer:	Yes I can positively confirm this. I bought two of them and they go together. Though you absolutely need to have them at an angle to each other. Having them at 180 degrees or at a straight line causes stability issues.
Question:	If i put my baby and another baby in this, how long will it take for them to engage in an mma fight
Answer:	My twins are in it together daily and no mma yet... but there has been some face scratching. Does that count?
