Answer:	It will definitely “cushion” a kayak, but what matters more is the surface you want to stick the bumper to. I have it suck to my garage wall (unpainted cinder block). I wasn’t concerned about leaving a mark on the wall. Overall, the bumpers are very dense (good thing) and do their job well.

Answer:	From what I understand, the adhesive used on Bumper X is a 3M product which is very similar to adhesives used for other "stick on" automotive products. It can be peeled back off by hand and any residue can be removed with rubbing alcohol. It should not damage anything unless the finish underneath was defective to begin with. I.E. already cracked, peeling, clearcoat affected by the sun, etc.
Question:	is it waterproof
Answer:	This is not the best answer for protection it's more for hiding a damaged bumper or just for looks it has an adhesive backing which in time these are easy to come off.
Question:	What is required to remove it after a few years of use (tools, products)? I'm worried it will damage the bumper

1. Measure distance of furniture edge between two corner cushions;cut section of edge cushion to fit;repeat as necessary;

Answer:	No I used it on a Honda passport. It looks like it will work on any car that accepts a standard license plate

Question:	Will it work on a brick fireplace
Answer:	Yes. When removing it the adhesive is difficult to remove.
Question:	Does it work on stairs
Answer:	Yes. A normal damp cloth should work and for mor stubborn dirt a little bit of dishwashing soap. I would stay away from amonia based cleaners and anything industrial as that would most probably damage the soft rubber. Also obviously don’t use lots of water because that could compromise the adhesive tape.
Question:	With this edge corner protector work well to wrap around bed legs to keep toes from stubbing
