Answer:	I don't know the exact type of plastic, but it is BPA free. The cup itself is made of semi-hard plastic and the lid is a rubber like material. Due to the softness of the rubber, it won't hurt your child's hand as they reach down into the cup. The plastic cup part is also very durable and hasn't cracked with repeated washing in the dishwasher and being thrown around by my child.

The stuff works great, but is a bit different than the same product in the tube. This stuff is more like playdough consistency vs. a more neosporin type of consistency that the tube version has (I like it better). also, I have been using this since Jan 16th 2012 and I am only just past halfway through the container, Jan 23, 2013, whereas the tube only lasted about 60-75 days. I need to remember to check the container for an expiration.
