| Answer: | I believe the crib mattress is smaller than this one and it will leave an empty space inside the bed, this beds mattress available and cheap through Amazone, I bought both, I hope thas answer helped |

| Answer: | There areca couple if slats that go across the bottom, but the mattress is essentially sitting on the floor inside the bed. |

| Answer: | Not really. It's basically on the floor so the toddler size mattress is only a couple of inches from the floor. It's possible if the child trips since the sides come up a couple inches higher than the mattress. I liked that the sides were higher so my little one didn't fall out though. |
