Answer:	18 inches from arm cushion to arm cushion. room for your bottom. mine is hard to push in foot rest. i use my heels and kinda walk my feet back to push it. i hold the button lever out till it in place then let go so not so loud .it is comfy. only had a month but i needed small for the area and it is just right. i am 5'5" and i have to sit all way back when i get in and my head does not come anywhere near top. rocks great and swivels great too. does lay all the way down flat also.

Answer:	Yes, the ones for hardwood floors have a fluffy material on the disc so they slide properly. The ones for carpet are the smooth discs. Amazon has them. They are called supersliders and are for carpet. Good Luck.

Answer:	I prefer the same size as having a larger one is a little unsightly, however, I have found that a slightly larger disc is easier to move on the carpet we have. It's also easier to see if one of the discs comes off (or chewed off by the dog) so it can be easily replaced.
