Answer:	Bed is one item purchased. The mattress is another item that I purchased separately. Plus, the sheet set another purchase, and i also purchased a blanket and pillow each separately, to complete the total bed setup for our grandson... and he loves it (he is 2 1/2).

Answer:	Not really. It's basically on the floor so the toddler size mattress is only a couple of inches from the floor. It's possible if the child trips since the sides come up a couple inches higher than the mattress. I liked that the sides were higher so my little one didn't fall out though.

Answer:	The display picture does not show any hardware, weird. But when you put this bed together, you can totally see the heads of all the screws at each connect point like you see in the customer photos.

Answer:	Yes - We have this bed for our toddler and I (his mom - about 130lbs) have layed on it (and sat on the side to read books) with him many nights with no issues whatsoever. It is so small and low to the ground that it is much easier and more comfortable to just sit on the floor next to the bed to read. The bed paperwork does say it has a 50 pound weight limit. I will add, however, that when I assembled the bed, I used glue (can't remember if it was wood glue or gorilla glue) on each end of every slat that supports the mattress.
