Answer:	I don't think this would conform to safety regulations for in-flight seating. This is a lightweight booster-type seat appropriate for feeding babies that can sit up well and toddlers. The "travel" noted in description, refers to light duty, compact, easy to pack and go, short-term seating. This is not a car seat. It must be strapped to some type of sturdy chair. My grand baby is 30 pounds and tries to lean sideways, this type of booster will not take much of that because of the material from which it is made.
