Answer:	-11 F to 11F. We keep ours at 10 F, which has been fine for all our frozen foods. The temperature is also more consistent from place to place in the freezer than others we have owned, which my wife really likes because it keeps her ice cream from getting too hard.

Answer:	There are frost free freezers that do not build up ice; as they defrost automatically. Manual defrost units will build up ice, if the ice is not removed by unplugging or using heat the unit will not work efficiently. We do have frost free alternatives; visit summitappliance.com, search for SCFF and many models will appear.
Question:	is this amber heat treated with autoclave
Answer:	The manual says on the front, "Outdoor and indoor frost-free". I read through the manual and all I can see about use outside is that it should not be installed in a location where the temp falls below 44 degrees F/7 degrees C. Hope this helps!
