Answer:	Yes it has a fan, no it is not always on and it is very very quite. There is a switch or should I say a button that you push to activate the 110 outlets and a green indicator light comes on to let you know that both the 110 outlets have been engaged and the fan to keep them cool. The USB outlets and the cigar lighter socket are always available with or without activating the fan/110 inverter. I use this device every day operating my dash-cam and charging my phone and Kindle HDX. I have also used it for my laptop from time to time. Works quite well but do keep in mind that you are drawing from your car battery and if the engine is off you need to start the car once in a while to keep it charged. I have also used it to power a guitar amp but found an RF frequency buzz zing thorough so I didn't do it for long. I believe if I plugged in a power cord and put the amp out side the car that may have helped however it was raining so I didn't. 

Answer:	To add to all the other answers, it does make a whirring noise when on but you only need to turn it on if you’re using the large plugs. You can leave it off and the USB ports will still charge.

Answer:	I know the instructions say to only use the cables provided, but you need to buy longer wires. The longer wires need to be a larger gauge. There is a guide chart you can go by. Do a search for "12 volt wire gauge vs amps" and you'll find a chart on an offroaders website. Example: For 200 amps, a 10 foot wire should be 6 gauge. The two foot wires included are 12AWG because they are only 2 feet long.

Answer:	If your key turns off your 12v takeoff it will. Some vehicles do not turn off the 12v socket when the vehicle is turned off. It depends on the make an modle of the vehicle. There is an on-off switch on the inverter which you can use to turn it off and leave it plugged in.

Answer:	This would work with any 12 volt battery. The only differences would be how long you could run it on only the battery. A small car battery would get very little run time before draining the battery, while a large truck battery would get a lot longer. The previous statement would only apply to a vehicle not running. If your car is started, there should be no problems running a converter this small for however long you want.

Question:	How much power does this use while idle
Answer:	Nothing on package to indicate idle power use, but it will use some as it has a led and heat sink that while plugged in it's still converting some voltage .
Question:	I want to use this to plus in a portable speaker in my car that would run my iPod via aux cord....will this work and not have interference? 6watt draw
Answer:	this should be a perfect use for a low draw item like a speaker. And it should have no interference , usually you can actually get cleaner power from small converters like this over power to your house.
Question:	Will this auto shutoff when the battery gets low to prevent a dead car battery
Answer:	A car battery IS dead at 10v. Hook a low voltage disconnect up to it if you're going to be using it for long periods of time. Try the Victron 200A battery protect
Question:	Will this power a breast pump? the input power for the pump is 100-240 v, 0.3 a. the output is 9v, 1.1 a
