Answer:	Im not sure of the Max height but they go high enough to list a suburban and get wheels off. I just used them this weekend for brake job. I would do a search in google to find the max height, they also make some stands that are meant for SUVs which go higher. Answer:	Yes, a higher tonnage jack stand will be more stable and in many cases provide a higher lift range. At the same time you need to know the minimum lift height the vehicles you're working on will need but this is more a matter of the jack not the stand. Any decent jack will lift high enough for a 3 ton stand unless it's an odd spot on a lifted (SUV or truck) vehicle. I would say go for the 3 ton for a regular sized car or small crossover. Remember that 3 ton capacity is a rating for the PAIR of stands, not per stand.

Answer:	These jacks are rated for 3 tons for the pair, meaning evenly distributed across two jack stands (the pair). This means that the load placed on the PAIR should not exceed 3 tons. Using 4 stands to lift a 4 corners of a vehicle is not recommended and the pair should be used for both sides of the front or both sides of the rear, not to be used for lifting a single side of the vehicle at the front and rear point. Whether a single stand or a pair of stands, the rated capacity is a 3 ton, balanced and centered load. The regulations, at least as it relates to the US, are quite specific on this.

Answer:	The difference is the locking pin. A number of jack stands, sold under various brand names, were recently recalled for being unsafe. If I am correct, the recalled models did not have the safety locking pin feature, found on this jack stand. After returning my recalled, unsafe, stands, I purchased these because they had the locking pin. I would suggest that one avoid any jack stand without the extra locking pin. The few extra dollars is well worth the added safety.

Answer:	The jacks are sold in pairs. The manufacturer most likely intended the jacks to be used as a pair. Other than supporting the vehicle for a minute or two with one jack, while raising the opposite side to place the other jack safely.... Answer:	No, because they are 1 ton each. They say 2 ton as advertisement for selling because yes total is 2 tons. But it doesn’t matter, if they were two tons each that would be 4,000 pounds, but you don’t add them together. If you have a car on all 4 jack stands the stands can still only hold 4,000 pounds even though each one is rated for 4,000. You don’t add up the jack stands and say ok I have 4 jack stands that are rated for 4,000 pounds each so they can hold 16,000 pounds.. NO do not do that, you will kill yourself. They are still only rated for the rating that one of the says
