Answer:	Hello,You use Permatex on areas where the brake pad contact either the brackets or the caliper it self....it work with all brake systems where there is metal on metal contact. Less go for long so u really dont need much. I t does not dry and its a good product. Please be aware that it should NOT be used for slide pins..for those you need a paste that work for rubber/metal contact such as 3M 08946 Clear Silicone Paste.I use these two products in all my vehicles...so far im very pleased.

Answer:	THIS WILL CAUSE SOME RUBBER BOOTS TO FAIL AND CAUSE PINS TO FREEZE. Just had to redo brake job from a year ago. Permatex is aware of the issue and rep I spoke with said to remove the Permatex Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant and use Permatex Silicone Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant.

Answer:	The cartridge container of grease has a dia. of about 1 5/16. Which is about 1/16 larger than that. It fits very snugly when in use as it gets a film of the grease on it. I use this in my personal garage and don't know of any that have infinite life-span. I also refill my cartridges from a large container of preferred grease.

Answer:	Unscrew the barrel then pull the plunger back to lock position. remove the cartridge (or you can refill cartridge with grease of your choice using a narrow spatula). After refilling with a cartridge full of grease and with the plunger pulled back to cocked position, you can carefully and gently screw the barrel back on to the grease gun. These are fine threaded and require gentle assembly. I also do not clean this tool except for wiping off with towels. NO SOLVENT. EVER.

Answer:	No, u can use any kind of grease, I use mine 4 my air tools, wen I use to work on airplanes, I used that type of grease for the air tools, but I also have another Astro 101 for automotive grease, for those small amounts u need.

Answer:	you don't want to adapt/use a std zerk fitting with this gun, the needle in this one will work on a zerk fitting by depressing the ball valve and then injecting grease into the fitting. If you are set on using a modern zerk adapter then should buy a gun setup for that style, you can find them in mini cartridge sizes as well

Answer:	Yes it will! . I bought for my chainsaw and it worked so well I ordered a second. Both work great and I keep one in each case. I did have to file the tip back about .025 so the tips taper sealed the bar hole completely...........takes about 30 seconds to do with a fine metal file...
Question:	Will this take 3 oz cartridges
Answer:	I don't think so. This Grease Gun is made to be individually loaded from the top (it unscrews), and there are NO springs inside the big tube to force the grease up and out. This is a very old, and very good design dating back (at least) to the 1920's and the plunger works by creating a vacuum of pulling the grease up from the tube, while pushing it into the zerc fitting. I got it use on a few old 1920 era motorcycles and found it would work on more modern design zerc fittings. To fill it, you need to unscrew the top, force the metal follower down to the bottom of the tube, and fill the grease from a tub. I only use Moly based grease and need a tongue depressor to fill the tube. There are a few explanation videos on u-tube. Bottom line - it works, it is much cheaper to operate than a 'modern cartridge type' and it will work on any size zerc. For the money you can't go wrong.
