It does NOT directly check anything mechanical inside the engine like oil pressure or ignition timing. It only tells if the computer thinks something is not working like an oxygen sensor or other sensors. It also does not monitor engine temperature or speed or if an injector is working or not. I don't believe it can make the check engine light turn off or reset.

Answer:	The 3211 comes with a whole set of adapters for pre 1996 OBD1 vehicles. Not positive if it has an adapters for a '94 Cadillac, but I would be surprised if it didn't. I have a '94 Lexus, and it has an adapter for that. One thing to be aware of: They apparently have stopped updating the scan tool. The last update was 7/17. I called customer service about the updates, and they called over to engineering at Bosch (who makes the tool for OTC), and they responded that they have no plans for further updates. The 7/17 updates covers cars up to model year 2013, and some 2014. Beware.

Answer:	Thank you for your question. The 3160RS will support TPMS, steering angle reset, EPB, ABS brake bleeding, transmission temperature, oil level, oil life, and brake pad life for most 1996 and newer vehicles. The 3160G doesn't offer any of these features. The 3160RS just came out less than a year ago and will have free, future updates. The 3160G has been out for almost 5 years now. The 3160RS uses are RS2 app which is only compatible with a smart phone or tablet. The 3160G uses our original RS software which is compatible on a computer, laptop, or smart phone.

Answer:	I think it's pretty good, the blade is strong and sharp, and can easily cut the items needed for repair. I have used it many times and it hasn't been worn or corroded yet.

Answer:	The scan tool should work on any vehicle built after mid 2000s. The tool meets EOBD (European On Board Diagnostics) specs. Read the manual, it will do everything but make coffee.

Answer:	I haven't used this on a CRD Jeep yet, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. All in all I would recommend this handheld to anyone needing quick access to codes and inspection info.

Answer:	To my knowledge ALL vehicles made after 1996 have the same universal plug-in for OBD scanners, most likely an agreement between manufacturers. No need for adapters of any kind unless the vehicle is built before 1996. I used this particular OTC model on my 98 Neon and 02 Ford Focus, as well as on a 2007 Chevy van without any issues. Its compact, does what it supposed to, simple to use, it has a built in database, allow for multiple verifications, tests and others. Don't buy Autel's, their lower end scanner could not read my Ford unlike this one. Prices fluctuate on Amazon, when price is low this model is definitely the best of its class, it does nearly everything but computer coding or re-coding which would require a higher end scanner or a manufacturer backed scanner/program. My advice is shop around for the best OTC that suits your needs, there are plenty on Amazon, this one is good but as prices fluctuate you might find another OTC that does more for less $, when I bought this scanner it was 70$ now its North of 100$...
