Most Heavy Equipment use 24 Volt Series systems, and Semi's use 12 Volt, and 24 Series configurations, either multiple 12 Volt batteries wired in Parallel, or 24 Volt systems, wired in Series. I am sorry I could not be of more help. The Display gives you an option for 12 or 24 Volts. Yet the description says it will measure 9V - 36V. Also it eliminates the need to switch the lead to read opposite polarity. This is a specialty circuit tester designed to test computer (logic circuits,hence the name of the tool) and common electrical circuits as well. It is computer safe which means the lights only draw about 7-15 mA of current, way less than a conventional test light (250-400 mA) which can and will damage computer logic circuits. FWIW, we used it on a MK5."Pro tip": During removal/installation of you new struts, you'll need to re-position this tool a few times to account for the fin/tab on the strut body. At one point in time on our install, the strut seemed completely struck and we tried everything to dislodge it. Turns out the tab on the strut was hitting where we had used this tool to spread the collar, so of course it wasn't going anywhere! 😅 |
