Question:	how do you clean them
Answer:	This all depends on if you just want to clean them, or clean and rejuvenate them. If you just want to clean them and aren't worried about the foam pads tearing or wearing out then a good (mild) dish soap like Dawn will clean them. However a good Polishing and Buffing Pad Conditioner will do so much more. By using a Polishing and Buffing Pad Conditioner you will reduce friction so the pad will be less susceptible to tearing. Lubricated pads cut and polish with less wear and tear on the pad. The light conditioning lubricants inside add extra surface protection by reducing dry friction while polishing. A good Polishing and Buffing Pad Conditioner works with lubricants in the products you are using, providing extra needed lubrication to protect against micro-marring and the possibility of burning paint through friction. Cost about the same as the Dawn soap alone does but works so much better and the pads last longer with it too. Cleans microfiber cloths and wool pads as well (do not use regular soaps on microfiber cloths because they will get gummed up). Once the pads have been cleaned shake them a few times to purge any water left inside the pad, and then let them dry in the sun for a few hours (velcro side facing down). Once dry you can then put them back into the plastic bag they came in, but do NOT put them in the bag wet or mold will form and ruin the pads.
Question:	Do these pads stick to a orbital sander
Answer:	They have a Velcro backing. The pads are the "furry/loop" part. You need the backing plate (most are yellow) that attaches to the orbital sander.

Answer:	The orange pad is for swirl removal generally with something like m 105. The white pad is for polishing to bring out the shine with something like m 205 but it does have a light cut for fine swirl marks.
Question:	Which pad do you guys prefer? What do you recommend (2011 with swirls from washing/drying and a new 2015 that I will polish and wax upon arrival
Answer:	I would use this pad to compound and polish.of course do that after you clay bar the entire car to rid the vehicle of contaminants. Then purchase a finishing pad from chem guys or meguiars they are both good but I mostly use meguiars products Its personal preference. Happy detailing!

Answer:	I have used several different manufacture's products over the years BUT I am an armature. However, I have been taking care of my cars for years and have found these pads are as good as any. Use quality products and follow the instructions and I suspect you will be satisfied. Remember, nothing will bring a finish that is too far gone except a new paint job.

Answer:	Yes, they are washable and re-usable, provided you don’t overuse them. While in use, clean them every 2 - 3 areas compounded with compressed air and/or a nylon brush.

Answer:	Hi Alberto, I own and use both respectively. I going to be totally honest - They both look almost identical until you look at both of them up close and I don't think there would really be any significant different if you used one over another for either cutting with compound or even waxing (which is what I use the finishing pad for). Regardless, they work great and I couldn't be happier with these pads on the Meguiars DA polisher. I do detailing professionally for a classic car restoration shop and this stuff makes my job a lot easier and the cars look fantastic.

Question:	Can these be reused by washing without losing the fine grade
Answer:	They can be rinsed with water. They are very porous. Like sand paper, the grit does diminish with use. Water should not effect the pads cutting strength.
Question:	what sandpaper grit does the grey pad correspond to
Answer:	The grey pad is equivalent to 3 "O" steel wool. 4 "O" steel wool is equivalent to approx. 400 grit. So, the grey pad is probably close to 200 grit sand paper. Since they both do different thing, you won't find an exact equivalency.
Question:	Non of these vsm hand pads have the grit shown in the descriptions. how can one select an abrasive pad without this information
Answer:	I do NOT use the GREEN PADS. The White Pads are equivalent to 4 "0000" steel wool, Gray = 3 "000" & Maroon to 2 "00". I'm not sure what that equates to in grit (as in sandpaper) . It is commonly referred to as Fine - extra fine & super fine. I have found very little difference between 4"0000" steel wool, the white pads & 450 grit paper from Festool.
Question:	Can you use these as a final finish with min-wax spray high gloss with out scratching the high gloss finish
Answer:	No. It will scratch the polyurethane finish. I believe the pad is designed for metal applications.

Answer:	I don't believe the pads are made for a random orbital. They are not round (6" x 3 7/8") and don't have a means for attaching. The packaging says they replace "00" steel wool. The directions say to "use the pads to prepare surfaces before applying the first c0at of finish or sealer and again between coats to obtain a super smooth finish." I have not used them for a final finish. Hope this helps.
Question:	Can these be used to buff after the final coat of poly to create a satin/matte finish
Answer:	No, these scratch the surface and smooth the poly between coats. The next coat will cover the scratches. There's another white finishing pad that 3M makes and sells on Amazon. However, that 's for buffing out the top coat. If you want a satin finish you should use clear satin poly. If you want a glossy coat use clear glossy poly.

Answer:	No, it's more like synthetic steel wool

Answer:	no that is the wrong way to do that. for automotive 2k clear coats the way it is polished is with 1500-3000 grit wet sandpaper, only use 1500 is it's very bad orange peel, start off with the higher grits to be safe, use a spray bottle with water or take it outside and use a garden hose for ease of use. use a flat sanding block and use a cross hatch pattern XXX to keep it as straight as possible. after wet sanding you will buy a professional level random orbit polisher, not the cheap $20 polishers but look into the harbor freight polishers, many are good and cost $70. you will use meguiars polishing compound, start with 105 for a rough cut than finish with their mirror glaze or higher cuts, your final product will be show quality , look up videos on how to cut and buff/ polish clear coat and you will have these techniques explained to you

Answer:	I would use something like a Dremel tool with a soft pad drill tip and buffing rouge on the pad for something like a bronze statue. You will not get the best use from a pad like this by rubbing back & forth with your hands - I have used them best when the pad is applied to an item being turned rapidly on a lathe.
