Answer:	I may be incorrect, but I believe this relates to the diameter of the circles associated with a dual action polisher. Essentially, dual action refers to the fact that the polisher orbits in two 360 circles (a circle inside of a circle if you will). The larger circle is 2.5" in diameter, while the inner is 8 mm.

Answer:	It stop spinning with the slightest pressure on it... there should be a way to adjust it not to stop or slow down so much.... I can have it set up to 3000 to 4000 rpm and when I tip it any and put much down pressure on it, it slows down to maybe 100 rmp or so... I have put lines on the pad so I can see when it slows way down. I was wanting more of a swirling buffer... this things just seems to set there and vibrate and isolate and does not seem to get the job done. Is there any adjustment to make it spin?

Question:	What is the smallest/largest pads you could use with this
Answer:	For what it comes with, a 6" pad. You could also install either a 5" backing plate or possibly a 3" plate as well and use the appropriate pads (3-5.5" pads respectively). I would not use anything outside that range for polishing paint. There MIGHT be carpet and upholstery brush attachments for this unit (which is what I use it for exclusively) that are 6.5". I'm not sure, but for paint, see above.

Answer:	There is no backing plate with this, I just received my 7424XP and had to pick the plate up from Home Depot before I could use it. The only thing included is a polishing pad.
Question:	How would this compare with a dewalt dwp849x 7-inch/9-inch variable speed polisher . it’s the cheaper of the two options so i need some advice
Answer:	Better is a matter of opinion, so, this is difficult to answer. Not entirely sure what you are trying to accomplish. Are you intending upon becoming a professional detailer? Are you intending to detail your car and friends/relatives, i.e. concerned amateur. How often do you want to use this? I detailed 3 cars and once detailed, I keep them cleaned and polished and sealed. I will never let my cars get to the situation where a polisher is needed. So, I don't intend to use it unless someone else wants their car detailed. I don't intend upon becoming a professional, if I did, I would get a Flex 3401 VRG direct drive DA which means a great combination of a DA and rotary but it is costs more than the 7424XP and the DWP849x together. (currently Flex is made in Germany but owned by a Chinese company). Both Porter-Cable and DeWalt are owned by Stanley, Black & Decker and both are made in Mexico. If country of origin matters, and since both are made in Mexico there is no difference. The DWP849x has soft start and the tigger is variable speed up to the speed you select, and you can lock the trigger into the full on position (where it will run at the speed you've selected). I've had the chance to use the DWP940x and for my application, I'd rather not spend $200 and 7"/9" is not required. If you want to use "normal" sized pads, you'll need to gat an additional backing plate, like a 5" or 6" Larger pads are available but leaves you with less choices and are typically more expensive. If you go with DWP849x, I'd recommend a smaller backing plate (I believe the "rating" of 7"/9" just means you can use larger backing plates and pads) with either a 5" or 6" backing plate (roughly $8-$20). You could damage your car if you use a smaller pad than the backing plate. A pad should always be larger than the backing plate, but obviously not too large a difference (like 3" backing plate with a 7" pad). The Porter Cable does not come with a backing plate, but I bought some pads and there was a special offer (from the place that I bought it) that the backing plate was "free" if you bought 3 pads. To me (and only me) the extra $80 for the DWP849x, I'd rather have the 7424XP and spend the money on pads/backing plates and products (polish, sealant/wax, decontaminates, clay bar, etc.); keeping in mind that you'd still have to buy those anyway. If you are a true beginner, the lower cost 7424XP would be a great starting point. The DWP849x weighs just over 3 lbs. and the 7424XP is nearly 6 lbs. But the weight of the 7424XP means that I used the weight of the polisher to apply the pressure instead of applying pressure by hand.

Answer:	The direction of the lid cannot be changed by removing it because it is hinged on one side. However, simply turning the entire basket around 180 degrees has the same effect as changing the direction of the lid would have.

Answer:	This is like a heavy burlap material. It is very small and I would not think that if your clothes are wet ( because that makes them heavier) that this would hold up well. I would consider something else.

Answer:	It's a very thick fabric. I don't think it would get any more moldy than any other laundry basket (and possibly less so, since it breathes more). My daughter's a swimmer so her laundry basket has had her fair share of damp towels for a week at a time, and it's bee fine.

I keep the bag on one side to keep it out of sight, and then flip it for big laundry days. I love this bag.

Question:	Hook it 2 pad
Answer:	For what it comes with, a 6" pad. You could also install either a 5" backing plate or possibly a 3" plate as well and use the appropriate pads (3-5.5" pads respectively). I would not use anything outside that range for polishing paint. There MIGHT be carpet and upholstery brush attachments for this unit (which is what I use it for exclusively) that are 6.5". I'm not sure, but for paint, see above.
Question:	Hello, does this item attach directly to my 7424xp polisher? 5/16-24 spindle thread. I would prefer the hook and loop style thanks
Answer:	There is no backing plate with this, I just received my 7424XP and had to pick the plate up from Home Depot before I could use it. The only thing included is a polishing pad.
Question:	How does this Pad connect to my Sander it has three screws that screw into sander this has I shaft that won't work
Answer:	Better is a matter of opinion, so, this is difficult to answer. Not entirely sure what you are trying to accomplish. Are you intending upon becoming a professional detailer? Are you intending to detail your car and friends/relatives, i.e. concerned amateur. How often do you want to use this? I detailed 3 cars and once detailed, I keep them cleaned and polished and sealed. I will never let my cars get to the situation where a polisher is needed. So, I don't intend to use it unless someone else wants their car detailed. I don't intend upon becoming a professional, if I did, I would get a Flex 3401 VRG direct drive DA which means a great combination of a DA and rotary but it is costs more than the 7424XP and the DWP849x together. (currently Flex is made in Germany but owned by a Chinese company). Both Porter-Cable and DeWalt are owned by Stanley, Black & Decker and both are made in Mexico. If country of origin matters, and since both are made in Mexico there is no difference. The DWP849x has soft start and the tigger is variable speed up to the speed you select, and you can lock the trigger into the full on position (where it will run at the speed you've selected). I've had the chance to use the DWP940x and for my application, I'd rather not spend $200 and 7"/9" is not required. If you want to use "normal" sized pads, you'll need to gat an additional backing plate, like a 5" or 6" Larger pads are available but leaves you with less choices and are typically more expensive. If you go with DWP849x, I'd recommend a smaller backing plate (I believe the "rating" of 7"/9" just means you can use larger backing plates and pads) with either a 5" or 6" backing plate (roughly $8-$20). You could damage your car if you use a smaller pad than the backing plate. A pad should always be larger than the backing plate, but obviously not too large a difference (like 3" backing plate with a 7" pad). The Porter Cable does not come with a backing plate, but I bought some pads and there was a special offer (from the place that I bought it) that the backing plate was "free" if you bought 3 pads. To me (and only me) the extra $80 for the DWP849x, I'd rather have the 7424XP and spend the money on pads/backing plates and products (polish, sealant/wax, decontaminates, clay bar, etc.); keeping in mind that you'd still have to buy those anyway. If you are a true beginner, the lower cost 7424XP would be a great starting point. The DWP849x weighs just over 3 lbs. and the 7424XP is nearly 6 lbs. But the weight of the 7424XP means that I used the weight of the polisher to apply the pressure instead of applying pressure by hand.
Question:	How does one go about unscrewing the old pad and screwing this one in? There doesn't look to be much space there and I cannot see a flat one anything

Answer:	It's really not too strong at all and is pretty flimsy. Don't think it would work well with rice crispy treats.

Answer:	Large Size: 3.6 x 3.6 inches. Medium Size: 3 x 3 inches. Small Size: 2.6 x 2.6 inches. 1 inch deep cut.
Question:	Will this fit the Griot's DA polisher
Answer:	The palm tree and pineapple are about 4 inches tall, the flamingo a bit smaller. My cookies swelled up and spread a lot, so the finished product was bigger than the actual cutters.

Answer:	Hi Wikwibbly, Our products are made from tin-plated steel as opposed to stainless steel. The only real difference between them is that stainless is dishwasher safe. Our cutters need to be hand washed and dried or they can develop small bits of rust around the seams of the hem, but with proper care we know our cutters are tough enough to last for many years to come.
