Operational Steps for Air Intake System Test
Open the air filter cover and take out the air filter. Take out the inflatable bladder from the accessory box and continue to squeeze it until the inflated diameter of the rubber bladder matches the diameter of the air inlet.
Remove the oil filler cap, add 10ml of test oil into it, and tighten the cap.
Turn on the power switch. Then press the air mode button and the smoke mode button respectively.
Block the smoke nozzle and watch the pressure gauge.
When the pressure reaches 0.8kg / cm2, please connect it to the inflatable bladder.
After that, you can find out if there is smoke coming out from the leak point of the air intake system.
Operational Steps for EVAP System Test
Find the carbon canister on the car, and disconnect the fuel inlet/outlet tubing. Take out the special adapter for EVAP system from the accessory box and connect it to the tubing you want to test.
Remove the oil filler cap, add 10ml of test oil into it, and tighten the cap.
Turn on the power switch. Then press the air mode button and the smoke mode button respectively.
Block the smoke nozzle and watch the pressure gauge.
When the pressure reaches 0.8kg / cm2, connect the smoke nozzle with the special adapter for EVAP system.
After that, you can find out if there is smoke coming out from the leak point of the EVAP system.
Attention:
Please make sure there are no open flames in the process of EVAP system test.
- Air Tightness Test: check air tightness of the pipeline and leakage under the system pressure.
- Air Intake System Test: check tightness of the pipeline and its degree of damage.
- EVAP System Test: check the fuel evaporation leakage of the EVAP system.

How to use?
1.Open the engine cover, and hang the detector in the cover.
2.Disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected with detector. If the pipe needs to be disconnected in the middle, please secure the other side with a rubber stopple.
3.Secure this side with proper taper stopple/pipe, and connect it with smoke output tube.
4.Connect detector with DC12V battery: red with positive, black with negative. Do not connect in a contrary way.
5.Turn on the power switch(air mode&smoke model), and detector starts to work.
6.In about 3 minutes, the pipe will be filled with smoke. Check the leak points. Please use head lamp if necessary.
7.After leak detection, please connect well the wires and pipe.
8. Please repair the leak part timely with specific tool.
Noted: Please don't add more than 30ml baby oil. 20ml is perfect.

MAINTENANCE
With longtime high temperature, the smoke and oil will oxidize and deteriorate. It will infect the service life of smoke generated part, so please change smoke and oil regularly.
1.Before filling new oil, please pour out the remaining oil in the detector.
2.When the smoke output has water drops, please replace with new oil.
3.Liquid paraffin and baby oil are OK.
4.Please fill new oil with equipped oil bottle

Please do leak detection away from smoke-sensitive parts.
It can suitable for EVAP.
Do not run the detector over 5 minutes. It needs interval rest.

How to use?
1.Open the engine cover, and hang the detector in the cover.
2.Disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected with detector. If the pipe needs to be disconnected in the middle, please secure the other side with a rubber stopple.
3.Secure this side with proper taper stopple/pipe, and connect it with smoke output tube.
4.Connect detector with DC12V battery: red with positive, black with negative. Do not connect in a contrary way.
5.Turn on the power switch, and detector starts to work.
6.In about 3 minutes, the pipe will be filled with smoke. Check the leak points. Please use head lamp if necessary.
7.After leak detection, please connect well the wires and pipe.
8. Please repair the leak part timely with specific tool.

Answer: | That is a hit or miss. I use it at work on many 407c systems and can usually pick up 407, but there is a lot of science behind why you may not be able to pick up a 407c leak. For example 407c along with all 400 series refrigerants are actually a blend of other chemicals. Each of those chemicals boil off at different temperatures. If your system has been leaking bad enough for long enough some of the chemicals the make 407c could now be gone and the ones left behind may not be detected by this detector. Best of luck to you. |

Leakage Warning
- When the gas leakage are discovered, "di di" sound will become more hurried. More refrigerant freon leak, more rapid. Meanwhile the indicator light flash quickly.
- The detector will beep regularly at a slow frequency when turn it on. If leak detected, it will beep in a higher frequency. (2 beeps per second when the detector is open, 10 beeps per second when detect the leak)
Notes:
Simple Operation Instruction
- Install 4 x AAA battery
- Turn the knob clockwise to turn on the leak detector, after 6 seconds, it turns into stand-by mode and begins to beep regularly. Then you can start detecting the leak.
