Answer:	I had this model on a 25,000 gallon in ground pool for about 15 years and it worked great. When it finally died, I replaced it with one just like it bought here on Amazon. That was about three years ago and it is working fine. Easy install and set up. I think I had to call for a program sequence once the controller was mounted, but that was easy to do also. My impression is that the 40,000 gallon rated model doesn't have to work as often or as hard on a smaller pool, and therefore lasts longer. So, it costs a little more up front to buy, but you save money because it lasts years longer. And, because it doesn't have to be on as many hours a day, it uses less electricity than the smaller units. So, that is another savings. Just my opinion, and my experience. Answer:	Not sure of the warranty situation, but our pool is 11 years old, our original Jandy unit lasted about 4 years. We purchased this unit as replacement and got 4 years out of it, and just purchased the second replacement a few years ago. You will get about 4 years out of these units, and the savings of buying it directly from the manufacturer through Amazon will add up quickly.
