Answer:	Living in the country with a barn too , I'd say thats a great idea. Wish I had a guest room in the barn. In a stall inside the barn is a perfect place for this port a potty so ladies dont hafta go outside in middle of nite or 1st thing in morn. If it works good inside my house will work gr8 in the barn.

Answer:	A composting toilets is $1000. This is $70. I lived in my Airstream and this was my toilet.( Only #1 went in the holding tank for #2 put a grocery sack over the bowl ) I used it probably 5 times a day. After three months the rubber gasket got worn out on the flusher. Rigged it for a month .the remaining 5 months I just used my shower head sprayer which was a foot away. I am now ordering #2. I can buy this 14 times for the cost of a composting toilet..that plus my #2 go in the trash every day usually within 10 minutes of the bootycakes arrival..they don't compost inside my tiny space

Answer:	Well this unit holds about 5 gallons of water, each flush is less then quater of gallon depending how many times you pump to dispose the waste. 1 to 3 flushes should do it. It has a decent pressure, not like a real toilet but enough to clean the bowl. I took it with me camping and I had three females ranging from 7 and 34 years, of age. Believe it or not I only had to dispose the waste every two to three days depending on use.

The Flush Tank

The top half flush tank holds 2.5 gallons of fresh water and has a toilet with a lid, seat and bowl. On the top of the toilet, there is a cap that can be removed to fill the flush tank with clean water. Answer:	The solids chamber has a 6 gallon capacity, so you'll want to use a bag with a similar or slightly larger volume.

Answer:	Unfortunately, our business and toilets have not gone interplanetary (yet). We ship all Sun-Mar products from New York--they are generally very bulky and heavy, requiring specialty shipping services and therefore higher fees.

Answer:	This toilet has 2 chambers, and separates solid from liquid waste. A composting medium such as "compost magic" from sun-mar should be used to compost solid waste.

Answer:	We have been living tiny since 9/1. We emptied the solid waste on 9/19. Two people use this. It was a little heavy. DO SUGGEST emptying the liquid every few days - check it! I rinsed both containers with water after emptying, and sprayed lightly a disinfectant.

Answer:	Yes. the Kirkland tissue width is 4" wide by 3.5 " long. Most tissue paper holders are 5" wide, I believe. Keep in mind the width of most tissue papers have shrunk to less than 4 inches wide. they used to be 4" x 4".

Answer:	not sure on exact weight, but I am a relatively UN healthy 53 year old male and this is my primary toilet. I have no problems removing it, and emptying it into the tiny septic clean out port on my hosts septic system. it empties easily and I think most of what I read online about the disgust while emptying is over blown and no where near what they make it seem. It has wheels to assist with carting it to wherever you need to cart it to?

Question:	Can this be used without a grey water holding tank? We have cement floor & walls, no way to run a line out. Would a composting one work better
Answer:	No, the urine separator must be run outside or connected to some kind of container. A composting toilet with a self contained urine trap would be better.
Question:	If this is in a structure not continuously inhabited how does it handle winter temps down to single digits
Answer:	It should be ok. You just want to make sure there's no liquid (urine/water) in the drain line when you leave the house because that can freeze in very cold temps. Otherwise it shouldn't be a problem because it's a dry toilet.
Question:	Can it be installed in a shower space [tiny bathroom]
Answer:	We do not recommend that the Villa be installed where water will directly go over the toilet. This could allow water to flow into the main area of the toilet which would inhibit drying of the solid waste and collect in the bottom of the toilet.

Answer:	Mine did, the seal fits the bottom inside "cone" of the toilet. As to fitting the hole in the floor to seal completely against leaks, well maybe, maybe not. Have a wax ring on hand just in case. NOTE: mine didn't come with any type of mounting bolts, water lines or the "holding tank chemicals" that others speak of. I have bought 6 of these on Amazon two at a time, maybe not all sold by amazon (some 2nd party seller?).

Question:	Is there a way to take apart the bottom half in order to clean it? Waste builds up on any toilet and needs to be scrubbed, not just rinsed
Answer:	I carry the bottom waste tank to the campground toilet along with two gallon jugs of treated water. I dump the waste first. Then I pour in 1/3 to 1/2 a gallon of treated water. Swish around and drain into the camp toilet. Check to see how clean it is or if there's an area that needs extra effort. Usually not. And then use the gallon up in 1 to 2 more rinses and swishes and draining. I use the very same products that they recommend to keep a toilet like this to not smell and develop problems with the waste and helps to break up and sanitize the waste too. I find this has worked well with no ill effects to me or my portable loo itself. Now I hate this loo since it's battery power flusher arrived busted and I did not realize it was broken until the wires themselves also broke off since it just dangled under the screw cap. That is another issue and trying to find a replacement import to fix it or switch it to a manual loo. I recommend looking for a different model or buying the manual flush version not this one. The company does not support it in the USA only in Europe under a different name.
Question:	I love the toilet but I have noticed that pressure builds up in the tank and if a user opens the gate valve with the seat/lid up it is enough to cause them to get a faceful of poop spray. Answer:	Yes I noticed this also the reason is this toilet has bigger tanks then my older one and the larger the tank the more air pressure can build inside of it the easy fix for this is before you use the toilet wad a few squares of toilet paper and set it directly over the hole and then close the lid and open the slide on the toilet slowly and that will let the pressure out and You won’t get splash in the face then you’re good to go and you might want to do that every time if it’s going to be hot where you’re at or if you’ve changed altitude.
Question:	How or where do you empty this toilet? Can it be emptied in a cabin toilet? Is it nasty to empty
Answer:	Susan - the toilet separates with a latch into top and bottom halves. The bottom half iss the waste tank. When you separate the halves you will see a tube with a screw cap that swivels out to the side. This will serve as the spout to enable you to pour the waste into any flush toilet. By "cabin toilet", I assume you mean a normal toilet with plumbing. If so, yes. If you mean a compost toilet, then you can empty the waste into it, but keep in mind that it will be up to 5 gallons, which could overload a small compost toilet. It's not particularly nasty to empty, especially if you press the small relief valve button before opening the cap on the waste spout. This will prevent splashback. When you pour the waste out, just do it slowly and gently to prevent "glugging" and splash. After the waste is emptied, just run some water back onto the pour spout, replace the cap, and slosh around a bit to rinse clean. Then empty the rinse water into the toilet as well. Make sure to replace the deodorant liquid before storing to eliminate odor. Question:	Can this also be manually flushed in case your batteries are dead
Answer:	This is a REALLY sore subject with this model toilet. The battery-powered flushing mechanism is short-lived, where it will suddenly and inexplicably break. Added to this is that Thetford doesn't offer a reasonable replacement for the flush mechanism in the U.S., they want to charge almost as much as the entire toilet unit! So if your flush mechanism breaks (and it will), then A) you can't flush the toiler from the toilet's reservoir water anymore, and B) you can't buy a replacement pump for less than the cost of a whole toilet.In the 1-star review section of this product I found that this same toilet is sold under a different name in Europe, and that replacement parts are actually available for it, so I was able to completely get rid of the battery pump and replace it with a manual one:Piston pump: 92401111 (Signal white) 9240166 (Light ivory) 92401130 (Ruby red)Electric pump: 92402135 (Light grey granite) 9240207 (Traffic grey)Hope this helps someone.

Answer:	I am a 60 year old woman also, and I am the primary caretaker of our toilet. Emptying the urine bottle isn't hard. I rinse mine briefly with the hose afterwards. Emptying the solid waste tank can be hard. It is quite heavy when full, and you need to be able to turn it upside down into a trash bag to empty it out. But I manage usually all by myself, and it doesn't need emptying very often. I think I empty ours 2-3x per year for our toilet that is used on weekends by 2 people about 2x / month. The floor needs a good scrubbing after that, because somehow, no matter how hard I try, some of the used peat escapes. Then, of course you have to refill it with clean moist peat. That isn't hard, but it is kind of messy. I clean the bowl frequently with bathroom cleaning wipes(don't toss those inside). Not much else to do. I would say you need to be involved with your toilet, but for me, it isn't so hard or so awful that I want to kick it. Congratulations on your tiny house.
