2 best portable toilet for campings
A portable toilet for camping is a compact and mobile sanitation solution designed for outdoor enthusiasts, campers, and those in recreational vehicles (RVs). These portable toilets offer a convenient and hygienic way to address bathroom needs when traditional facilities are not available. Here are some key features and considerations:
Portability: Portable camping toilets are designed to be lightweight and easy to transport. They are often compact and can be carried to remote camping sites or used in RVs during road trips.
Tank Capacity: These toilets typically consist of a waste holding tank and a freshwater flushing tank. The tank capacities vary among models, and users should consider the frequency of use and the number of people in their group when choosing a portable toilet.
Flushing Mechanism: Higher-end portable toilets often feature a flushing mechanism to simulate a more traditional toilet experience. Some models use a manual pump, while others may have a battery-powered or electric flush.
Waste Disposal: Portable toilets are equipped with a waste holding tank that can be easily emptied and cleaned. Many models have a spout or valve for easy disposal at designated dump stations or toilets.
Odor Control: To address potential odors, portable toilets often come with built-in systems such as seals, chemicals, or biodegradable additives in the waste tank. These help minimize unpleasant smells during use and when emptying the tank.
Compact Design: The design of portable camping toilets is space-efficient.They can be set up in tents or RVs without taking up much room. Some models are even designed to fit in small bathroom spaces in recreational vehicles.
Durability: Materials used in the construction of portable toilets are chosen for durability and ease of cleaning. Common materials include high-density polyethylene, which is rugged yet lightweight.
Ease of Cleaning: Manufacturers design portable toilets with ease of cleaning in mind. Detachable tanks and smooth surfaces make it simpler for users to maintain hygiene standards during their outdoor adventures.
Privacy Tents: Some camping toilets come with optional privacy tents or shelters that provide users with a designated and discreet space for bathroom use.
Environmental Considerations: Many portable toilets are designed with environmental considerations in mind. Some models use biodegradable toilet paper, and waste disposal practices should align with Leave No Trace principles.
For campers and RV enthusiasts, a portable toilet can significantly enhance the comfort and convenience of outdoor adventures, providing a reliable and sanitary solution for bathroom needs in areas without traditional facilities.

Answer: | A composting toilets is $1000. This is $70. I lived in my Airstream and this was my toilet.( Only #1 went in the holding tank for #2 put a grocery sack over the bowl ) I used it probably 5 times a day. After three months the rubber gasket got worn out on the flusher. Rigged it for a month .the remaining 5 months I just used my shower head sprayer which was a foot away. I am now ordering #2. I can buy this 14 times for the cost of a composting toilet..that plus my #2 go in the trash every day usually within 10 minutes of the bootycakes arrival..they don't compost inside my tiny space |
Question: | Can this be emptied into your residential toilet? I had one in a popup camper that you could empty the cassette in a regular toilet |
Answer: | You can as long as it is not overloaded with toilet paper & other solids. |
Question: | How much water per flush is recommended? How many days of one person using it for mostly "solids" would it work for |
Answer: | Well this unit holds about 5 gallons of water, each flush is less then quater of gallon depending how many times you pump to dispose the waste. 1 to 3 flushes should do it. It has a decent pressure, not like a real toilet but enough to clean the bowl. I took it with me camping and I had three females ranging from 7 and 34 years, of age. Believe it or not I only had to dispose the waste every two to three days depending on use. |
