Like I doubt it is any where nere 200 C silicone power wires (400f, just shy). So add an additional Shunt across the terminals and, wallah, with a large enough copper bar you can dramatically increase capability. Have fun. I double up with my wires so to use a smaller size AWG. You can even put twin wires in one lug to daisy chain up a shunt to your requirements. And wire size for a certain AWG wire like Thhn 90 degree c rating is amps not to exceed. Whether you are using for 120 v. 240 v. Or any other user defined voltage, But the insulation of thhn is only good for under 600 volts. Thericetacly be same fuse to protect your wire size. That's why you can transmit more power (wattage) when utilizing a higher voltage. Cutting down on the costly heavy gauge copper wires. Unless you are using Silver Wire, it be more conducive than Copper. Oh my. Have a great day. I like counting electrons jumping from atom to atom, since I don't have a copper penny to spend. So don't spend more than you have to. It really adds up to a lot of Prime Ribs for eating. Now if the rating is for a Switch contact then it can only handle safely a power limit, 10a x 120v is 1200 watts, and 100a x 12v is 1200 wats. Don't confuse ac with dc ratings. Ac goes through zero twice every cycle. DC doesn't. That's why dc contacts arck larger then ac. DC switch gear is built more robust than ac. Don't hurt yourself. |

| Answer: | For everyone who thinks you shouldn't heres an answer for you. If no fuse from the battery to the block then you run the risk of shorting out so your cost to fix it is a new battery. If this block is rated for 6 gauge wire then the wire can withstand around 60 amps if you fuse this with an inline fuse your cost of an inline waterproof fuse holder with fuse is around $10 and you can get a pack of fuses for cheap. So your choice if you wanna buy a new battery if something shorts or a new fuse if something shorts. I choose fuse it. 😎 |

| Answer: | The stud is metric. 5mm if I recall correctly. Mine is wired with an 8 gauge ring terminal. They eye is a #10 ring/eye size and it is a good fit. Like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0747SD457/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1 1/4" ring terminal will also work, but there is a little too much space between stud and terminal for my liking. Keep in mind that the total load I will be running off of this fuse box is less than 40 amps, so if you will be running more than that, you will have to add up the continuous amps and select to correct gauge wire.
